Hmmmm, do the laws of physics not suggest that if you switch a fan on...it will move & cool the air around it?

If so...my Veg room aint following the laws of physics 34.gif

Ive had a few seedlings in my VR for the past few days, with a little (8cm?) computer fan blowing over their heads. And all was fine, temps of 28degreeC Average.
I put a 6" clip on fan in there yesterday - took the computer fan and put it on one of the 'intake vents', and turned my main filter & fan on (which is NOT in the VR)
I come back a few hours later, to see how it has settled...and the average temp is now 33degreesC!!!!
With a max of 35.6 degreesC and a min of 31.2 degrees C...something is goping wrong...

I dont wanna fry my freshly sprouted seeds!! cry.gif

Any suggestions?

My Grow Diary:

And the vent system I got going on.....

Am I worrying for the wrong reasons?
Any help at all would be great.

Cheers peeps thumbsup.gif

Fans blow air, they do not cool air. If you have too many fans then the heat from the electric motors
will heat the air so the fans end up blowing warm air about.

Thanks Nat, good info.
Ive only got the one 6" fan...running on low, after a full nights fanning, it dosnt get too hot - fortunatley.

Ive since, taken the BIG (6") fan out. And put the little 8cm computer fan back in.
Temps have dropped back down to 31degrees at pot level, and 38 (!!!!) degrees at the top of the room.

Hmmmm.....really gotta get that Floweroom constructed

Sounds like your extraction isn't up to the job, whatever you do you will need better extraction.
i.e. Your extraction fan is the most powerful

My main fan & filter is a Vortice c100 and a 100mm C/F
Its on....but because my Flower room isnt closed off yet (FR is gonna be on the right, next to the VR), its not drawing air from the Veg box....its probably pulling air from the room around it sad.gif
Hmmmm, gotta make a start on the Flower room this weekend.

Thanks again smile.gif

Could you block the intake in your f;lowerin' room 'til it's finished? Maybe wrap a carrier bag around the carbon filter? The fan's gonna suck air in through the path with least resistance, if you can slow down the rate it's pickin' up from the FR it should sort ya veg box. smile.gif
Peppi
apparently if you blow warm air around it agitates it and it gets warmer i think i read that in closet cultivator but i may be wrong

I get ya, but my FR isnt even started!!
If I block the CF.....the outtake fan wont pull anything wont it?
The Vortice is on its low setting at the mo, and on my shopping list is a dimmer switch.

Thanks MP....Its all going into my brain!....where it goes after that is anyones guess!!! wink.gif

*flashes back to physics lessons at school*
I agree.....hot air is just airparticles moving around at a faster rate, so moving them around will make it even hotter

Hmmmm, really gotta get me FR together!

Cheers ! very helpfull u uk420ites int ya! wink.gif thumbsup.gif
