Sorry to tell you this again, its clone only. Any seed you buy of NL5 os a stitch up. It has been used in vars from the seedbank time onwards. Look for the one crossed with #2 if ossible, i beleive thats most Nl5, hehe.

Reeferman did an NL5 that was allegedly a nl5xnl2 cross didn't he? Although he calls it pure....there maybe beenz out there somewhere.

MS?MJ!
Scotlander, some strains like Trainwreck and Cheese and apparently also NL5 are "clone only" - that is to say, from a load of unremarkable seeds produced from various crosses one absolutely exceptional plant has appeared, therefore it can't be replicated again and so has been passed down over the years through clones as a "clone only" strain - in effect, everyone with that strain growing actually owns a bit of the original plant which I think is pretty damn cool smoke.gif

The bad news is, you can't just buy a pack of seeds for those particular strains sad.gif Quiejo presumably suggested NL5xNL2 as a good seed because it is the clone-only NL5 crossed with NL2 to make a seed that is mostly NL5, so is as near as you're going to get without having the clone itself.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong by the way guys but that's how I understand it anyway unsure.gif

Hope that helps,

guitar.gif Well my so called N/L 5 arrived from Canada this morning guitar.gif It's taken 2 months but they are here! Packaging looks dodgy, and they enclosed 10 pages of how to grow whistling.gif Also looks like there's 20 seeds in the pack when there should only be 10! unsure.gif

This is what it says on BCSC about N/L 5......................

Northern Lights #5 : Indoor $75 10 seeds (British Columbia Seed Co.)

Just reading that back unsure.gif Anyone know what this is? Our #1 selling strain F-5 IBL. I guess that's what the seeds are? ya think unsure.gif yinyang.gif

EDIT: An IBL (inbred line) is a genetically homogeneous strain that grows uniformly from seed.

A hybrid is a strain made up of two genetically unlike parents, IBL or hybrid.

When you cross two different IBL strains for the FIRST time, it is called the F1 generation. When you cross two of the same F1 hybrid (inbreed), it is called the F2 generation.

The process of selective inbreeding must continue at least until the F4 to stabilize the recurrently selected traits. When you cross two specimens of an IBL variety, you get more of the same, because an IBL is homozygous, or true breeding for particular traits.

lol.gif hey I'm slow
