No need to PM ya good buddy, I'll happily share my ignorance in public!

I used to use Miracle-Gro for a few years. It was totally shite. I've never seen nute burn like that. You could actually still see the wee blue particles floating around in the water.

I used to steal some of my old mans tomorite as well, I thought it was OK, but probably not the best for the job. I've used a few other tomota plant type feeds, and they didn't kill my plants.

I've used Chempak Orchid + Cactus feeds as well, they are shit. (Unless your growing orchids or cacti).

Am I allowed to say that the best one i've used is bio biz? I know that this isn't the organic bit or nothin' but I think they sell it in wee bottles now, about half a litre for a fiver. 0.5l of Bloom + Grow for about a tenner or so is sound.

If a tenners a bit steep, then I can't think of anything better than one of those tomato plant type nutes.

just a quick question to add to this, is this for flowering, vegging or both? in pretty much the same situation myself but was under the impression that you needed a different type of feed for the flowering process, higher in pottasium, less in nitrogen?? could be talking pooh.gif cos im new to this. thumbdown.gif , thumbsup.gif ?

Chempack comes in all different flavours, i.e chempack no2 is high nitrogen for early growth 25+15+15 and works very well ,chempack no8 works well in flower 12.5+25+25 and at £3.00 for a box that will last for ages,i use it at less than the reccomended dose because i use calcified seeweed, lime, potash and a bit of fish, blood and bone in my base mix,if your compost has lime and seeweed in it from the start you don't need a boost in veg,i.e no need for chempack no2,when my plants are in flower they get a good dose of no8 every third feed and have had no probs to date, only tip burn when i am pushing them buds.

I used miracle-gro for two grows. Sounds like the miracle was that I didn't kill 'em!

I used to dilute it a lot - probably 1/2 of what it said on the side of the pack but although I never killed anything they did burn a fair bit. So tomorite's ok then, is it?

Looking through my cupboard I've got Miracle Gro, Phostrogen (14-10-27) and something called SuperPhosphate, which looks like it could probably kill my entire garden with one look. Are any of these going to be any use? I'm quite a fan of tomorite (surprise surprise) and of course Maxicrop, which I've put on with almost every watering in the past.
