Orient Express

[attachmentid=34912]

Orient express is an F1 hybrid born from the special mother of Vietnam Black ( selected for its quickness , dense and resinous flowers and its strong buzz and aroma ) and pollinated by our best males from Yunnan ( China ).

The final result is a powerful and uniform F1 hybrid( 60% sativa, 40% indica).
Thanks to the chinese indica influence, we obtained a compact and columnar plant, that flowers in a short time ( 8-9 weeks ) and conserves the aroma and potency of VietNam Black, avoiding the typical stretching of the sativa.

Highly recommended for the asian sativa lovers who want a plant for discrete outdoor terrace grows or little indoor spaces
ACE seeds
The Vietnam black mother selected for the F1 hybrid is one of our best sativa mothers.

The aroma is real strong and complex ... nothing fruity or delicate .. it's a strong and dense organic aroma .... like smelling all the aromas inside a humid forest .... moss in the trunk of the tree, humid soil, ... the taste is similar in strenght and quality to the aroma with great earthy details.

ACE seeds
The high is strong, pleasant in the head and body and long lasting!

The trichome production is outstanding for a sativa!

We have tried VB mother indoors in soil organically and in hydro with great results.

She has shown good indoor adaptability for a pure sativa producing real high yields. The vigour is so strong that clones can be move to 12/12 directly after root.

Pics of the VB mother flowered ( 9 weeks of flowering) indoors from clone. She needs 3 weeks more to finish.

As we explain in the catalog, we bred ( Vietnam Black x China ) hybrid to reduce the size and flowering time of the Vb mother in a more indica structure but conserving the aromas and kind of high of the Nam Black mother.

Some Orient Express from seed ready to move to flower soon.

Hello ACE,

Lovely looking crosses, it's easy to see that you enjoy what you do and it's great to see you so involved in the support forum. smile.gif

What sort of height would you expect the Orient Express to finish at when flowered straight from seed and how does it grow in a sog?

Keep up the good work. thumbsup.gif

Good day!

Thanx justagrower, Orient Express is not a long flowering plant. She finishes at mid october in the northern hemisphere.

Thanx for the support Pieshop, Orient Express grows with a sativa phenotype but with compact size and low stretching during the first weeks of flowering, traits more related to the chinese indica father.

Here are some pics of Orient Express growing in early August. This female was planted in June from seed.

Really impressed with A.C.E. strains. I want to try other weeds without the usual 'sickly' skunk smell/taste but definitely needs to be strong and not couch-lock. Currently deciding on the OE or Panama, maybe both if budget allows! I'll have to find someone to order for me though, as I don't have any credit card facilities.

Thanx for join lol.gifa Bud! smile.gif

Each outdoor sativa from our catalogue has its own personality, kind of high, taste etc ... it depends a lot in the tastes of the grower. Our sativas are strong in each way and definatly not couchlock.

If you live in a warm climate where you can grow outdoors, Panama would be a great option. The high is happy and sociable with low tolerance. The taste and aroma is more like the old school american sativas than today's commercial hybrids.

If you are an indoor grower or prefer smaller/faster plants, then Bangi Haze and Orient Express are the best ones from our catalogue. The congolese taste/aroma is exquisite and quite different to the skunk aromas. The high is strong and electric.

Nice one, you just decided for me!

Yep, I'm indoors, so I will go with the Orient. The Bangi Haze seems to be well respected, so that decides the Panama's fate (unfortunately).

Best wishes on your ventures and looking forward to future releases.

Hi ACE,

Had a few probs with brown spot leaf fungus on the Bangi Haze. (Septoria Fungus)

Never had that before on any strains previous. Have you come across this on this strain?

Good day heiro!

Orient Express is an F1 hybrid between Vietnam Black and chinese Yunnan indica. The hybrid maintains the high production and aromas of the VB mother, with the compact structure and fast flowering traits of the chinese indica Yunnan. The high is very sativa .. powerful, clean without paranoia. Flowering time is around 9 weeks both indoors and outdoors. Finishing in early october outdoors.

Both phenos share the same kind of aromas, taste, high and flowering time.

The chinese pheno is more compact and branchy.

The Vietnam Black pheno is taller, with some purple colours ( little cold temps are required) and higher flower/leaf ratio.

Pics of Orient Express finished. Vietnam Black phenotype.

how is the mold resistance?

Good day all!

moranity, Orient Express is not a True breeding strain. It's a F1 hybrid between a Vietnam Black female and chinese Yunnan male.

When 2 unrelated Inbred lines or true breeding strains are crossed, then a F1 hybrid is produced. The F1 hybrid shows quite uniformly the dominant traits of the parents ( depending on the stability of the TB parents) but in a more vigorous way. F1 hybrids are more vigorous, higher yielding and more powerful than the IBLs used to create it. That's why most commercial varities are F1 hybrids. They produce better results for the grower.

If a new generation is produced using a female and a male of the same F1 line (for example pollinating a Orient Express F1 female with a Orient Express F1 male) then F2 generation is produced.

The F2 generation losts vigour compared with original F1 plants. That's because F1 hybrid is produced using unrelated genetics while F2 generation is produced using very related genetics (brothers relationship). This is a inbreeding form that produces lost of vigour.

While F1 hybrids shows a main phenotype (population with commoun and distinguishable traits), the F2 generation have wider variation. For Orient Express example, in the F2 generation you can find more Vietnam Black related plants, more chinese influenced plants and phenos inbetween. So you lost stability and predictability which is not good for the grower.

The explanation is quite general and results depend a lot in the stablity and dominances of the TB lines used in the process.

If you are looking for a True Breeding sativa that produce uniform offsprings, Bangi Haze and Panama are our more inbred and stabilized varities. I hope it helps.

Embalmer, ACE Seeds wish you have a happy grow! wink1.gif

thanx for the help ace, will still get the orient express seeds anyhow, does sound great, is no big deal them not being stable yet, ya cant have everything.

hey ace i was wondering if you plain on coming out with a chinese ibl? I like your angle of breeding and am gonna add your seed to my room in future. love seing new stuff on market stanky
ACE seeds
Good day!

Yes moranity, we are happy with the F1 status of the Orient Express. The grower can easily find powerful high yielding females although we dont discard to work in future stabilizations. Thanx for trust in our genetics! wink1.gif

stanky yank, thanx for the good words! We are working in a IBL chinese dominant line with a hint of haze. The hybrid grows very compact and columnar like our chinese Yunnan indica, with almost no stretching in the flowering. The aroma and taste is a mix of the creamy, dense details of the chinese indica with very exotic hazy/incense influence. The flowering time is around 8 weeks producing very dense and resinous flowers. The high is very strong, long lasting and psychodelic.

The goal is combine in the line the easy growing traits of the indica ( short vegetative, short size, fast flowering, dense flowering, indoor adaptability) with the aromas and high of the finest SE asian sativa.

We are still in the half way of the breeding. The best females of the line have been selected but we are still on the process to stabilize them to IBL status.

Here is a pic of the chinese hazy hybrid grown outdoors. Will try to find more pics later! Have a nice day!

{[(cannabliss)]}, our chinese Yunnan indica and her hybrids are fast flowering, but they don't autoflower.
You can keep mothers for years in the veg room without any problem.
