Alrighty folks, a bit of a poll for ya. I have a tentfull of strains all flowerin away nicely and I am at the stage where I have cloned them all and must decide which should stay or go.
Mostly, it has been easy.
Like my "The Pure" plants (Flyingducthmen) - absolute poo, killed her without a second thought. Just letting one thru to smoke, is all.
But the Bella, well she's a hard one. Thing is I don't know what the smoke is like. But she's sooo short! No stretch whatsoever on any of the 3 ladies I got, so I really don't know she can be a keeper alongside my GDs and others. Even the Ultimate Indica leaves Bella behind. And I am going to be introducing ESBxHolyweed soon, so littlies - well, should they stay?
Or should they go?

Not having any experience of Belladonna yet, but hoping to grow her out sometime, my advice would be to keep her. As for the smoking of her well if she lives up to her breeder description she sounds a nice sat dom type high. Trippy/hallucenogenic I think she is called...

The short plants can always be stood on upside down pots to make them more even when you have lanky girls in there.

May be fiddly for the clumsier or more accident prone gardeners amongst us But worth the extra fiddling I reckon.

I'm growing out 5 belladonnas at the moment, they're only 3 weeks from seed though so I can't tell you about the smoke but it's supposed to be a strong heady hit with a fair bit of trippiness.

Smoke some then decide for sure , keep the best clone of each your not sure over , run em thru the smoke test then decide .

Theres always boosters (upturned plant pots , or my personal fav biccy tins) to even them out a bit .

Atm i have 4 7" sq pots upside down and 1 biccy tin on each pot , with a paste table on top to act as a shelf .

Mf 1ft tall affi's (I shit you not) are now happily competing for light with 6 ft Aussie Bush and 5 ft Holycross plants .

Oh Aye EO, and the rest....... I don't have a problem keepin' her if she's worth it. (One'll have to go though, its just too feeble.)

I have a liftable tray, no probs there.

But when I see the Bella alongside my GD's and LUI's and Biz's, well she just looks - urm, wimpy. No smell yet either. No, not getting the vibe from this strain yet at all.

Also I is puzzled. The Big Book of Buds has her down as "Superskunk x Mostly African Sativa". Not what the packet says though - where it says "mostly skunk sort".

What I tend to do if I am running out of mum space, especially if I do not know what a strain is going to be like, is to take a couple of clones from her, and then kill the mum once they are rooted.

By the time the clones are rooted and start putting some size on, hopefully you will have some indication of what the smoke is like, and whether you want to keep her

Hmmm, seems like the advice is fairly clear. Thing is I had 20 assorted females to start with. Now no way can I keep all of them, just aint got that sort of space for the mums etc. So some thinning and selection was always a requirement. Thus I have only kept 3 of 6 GD's, and 2 of 4 Biz Ivols. So I have 3 Bella's. Think I'll have a close look at the flowering ones tonight and see who's strongest looking, maybe keep one or two.
Got to do the same with the Ultimate Indicas too They're really beefy as fekk and look very interesting.

If you don't mind me being off topic Arnie, is that Ultimate Indica a noticibly good strain for arthritic pain? Always looking.

'Ey up Hvyfuel M8 - yes, I think she maybe. But I have only smoked one plant of so far. And that had to be chopped early due to a forced relocation, and had endured a mite attack - so hardly a true tester; yet even then it gave my PoG more than a run for her money on the analgesic side of things. Certainly an interesting plant to grow. Verry Vigorous and chunky with a stonking stinkiness! The one I flowered off ended with a distinct "orange" smell to her.

Queijo - I hear ya M8, and I am initially tempted that way. Hence the poll. But still, ya never know, I may drop her. Looking again this evening when the lights came on, and whoa! is she a dwarf mext to the GD and LUI!

late comer to the thread and they look lovely arnie... and i voted keep, too.

i gew PS sheherazade last year and it was one of my favourite plants and smoke, and their sensi star is legendary, thats why i reckoned you should keep her till she's had the smoke test... may well be damn good!
