I live quite high up on the side of a south facing mountain in Wales. It can get pretty windy at times. I want to grow some outdoor skunk. I am back for another go at growing. My last go was in the 80's. Twelve healthy plants got eaten by the bugs in a forest fire break.
i want to suceed this time.

Can you help me?

Don't know about alltitude growing but .... snowdon is highest mountain in Wales at some three thousand feet, a thousand meters is about 3300 feet ???

welcome mate, nice to see you'va taken up your interest in growing again! guitar.gif

i don't see why you couldn't grow there, people grow weed right at the top of scotlands why not where you are.

All you'll need to do is stake them in the ground well and make sure there vrey very stable.

Good luck mate

Thanks for reminding me about the height of Snowdon.

I go me feet mixed up with metres. FFS. I must have had a flashback from the acid, me heads always been a bit in the clouds though.

When I was in Manali, there was some wicked strains growing there, really hardy fucking plants. Though being just over the hill from Kashmere, the black was too good to resist.

Any idea what I should go for, with regards to hardyness. I got a few good stakes ready to tie the fockers down.

Hi Mr Leary smile.gif

I grow at heights of 450ft upto just over 1000ft thumbsup.gif

If growing on a S/SW facing hillside at the upper end of the scale, I tend to look for hillside sites with forestation just below them so the tops of the trees below are in front of, and just-above horizontal with, my site/s. This allows good wind protection yet still affords direct light for a massive amount of the day.

You might want to take a look at a larger-scale O.S. map for escarpments or real steep slopes if you don't know the area fairly well. These areas won't have been planted on if the hillside is forested yet the hillside below probably will have. Therein may lie your best site/s in such situations.

As for strains, you can take your pick from the many tried and tested here by UK420 members in the guerrilla growing forums and most will be available from the store. However, with the added elevation that you have I reckon you'll be wanting a good strain against mould and as early a finisher as possible because of the extra few degrees drop in temperature that you're going to get, compared to that experienced by outdoor growers at sea level.

It'll make all the difference once you get into October wink.gif

Manali!
Get digs in the town it's cheaper if your on a budget, don't be tempted to buy anything there, you will get ripped off or arrested. Wait! You can then walk up to the little mountain hamlets where you find little hippy cafes and more discreet dealership going on. Barter like fuck, you buy hasish in Tolas, so be prepared to have a good stash on the way back down. I went up the sunnyside, as it was getting very cold. There was snow at the top of one mountain, you could go skiing. We even stumbled upon an acid farm, with Vats of acid in different strengths. It had a Welsh Dragon Flag flying outside on a flag pole. Made my day being born Welsh, and proud as fuck. Grand Slam, yippee. Wish Burton and Dylan were alive. Cool Cymru!! Anyway what ever smoke and eat all your Hash and Grass before travelling back to Delhi. Be warned they have borders in the Punjab, and the army police search all the buses very thorough, seen an Italian guy get his head split open by a rifle butt, he paid a large amount of his cash to get out of it.
