can anyone please tell me how much dolomite lime to add to a 50ltr bag of Allmix?
are there any drawbacks to using it compared to epsom salts?
this is my first grow in soil, apart from the mums, so any advice is very welcome.

Just did a bit of a search for you for info on dolomite lime. A thread of OT's which is pinned in this forum gives the mix he uses to make his own compost. And the amount of dolomite lime added.
Dolomite lime infoOne thing I would say is that by adding it to the mix you may not get any MG def's, but it is a less controllable method than adding epsoms. However most peeps wait till they get signs of MG deficiency before they add any epsoms.
Hope that helps.

I would not add the dolomite lime I would wait until the signs of Mg deficiency manifest themselves and then use Epsom salts. Too much Mg may cause nute lock out and I am not sure if the addition of dolomite lime would cause a build up of Mg. Like EO says the amount of Mg required by the various plants is different depending on the strain.
Only my opinion though.
Do you normally have Mg deficiency problems?

Thanks guys, This is my first soil grow so, I think keeping it simple is the best option, ie epsom salts and OT's feeding regime etc.
It's so good to have uk420 members know how instantly available, I look forward to the day I can return the compliment.
I hope all you outdoor growers have a great summer, ..... just luv those outdoor pics......
