Hello to all of my UK420 Friends,

I am planning to grow a variety by the name of Big Bud as soon as the mail man brings the seeds from holland. I have not grown an Indica variety yet, only sativas and I am wondering if there is any additional growers information that could be useful to me or other members. I encourage you to also share your individual experiences smoke/grow of Big Bud

Hi Budwizer, finished growing BigBud in January and was well impressed with the yeld, grew it hydro in a flood and drain system. Looked into the strain and read that 1 in 4 females can produce awsome amounts, luckily I must of had 1 of them the yeild dry was 8oz, it produced as much as the other 3 plants, it grew to around 9ft and the room is only 7ft high so lots of bending occured! As for taste, it's like anything we all have a diiferent spin on things but me and my mates renamed it mud bud, ironically it had never gone near the earth. The strength was medium more of night time smoke, really was a chill out smoke. One of my mates quoted "It makes me forget myself" what ever that means only he knows. I'm not sure I'll grow it again, not to say it was bad, just not that interesting but I guess horses for courses? Fairly straight forward to grow but do be careful to really air the main colas as bud mold is an issue with this strain. Good luck

Ah forgot to mention if growing hydro, I ran mine on fresh water for around two weeks without bud production really decreasing, also I flowered it for70 days which is longer than they say. I removed 2/3 of the plant for drying and left the younger loower branches to mature for a further 10 days seemed to work well on my grow

**Good Job on your Big Bud posting. It appears that I am also sufferring from a MG deficiency on my current California Orange Plant. I think that it is too late, all of my leaves have turned yellow to very light green. I added some nitrogen (Probably screwed up) I will certainly get some epsom salts now that I know their use. It can be used in the soil not just as a foliar spray right?

**Your BB leaves did not look as fat nor as dark green as most advertisers are portraying them as.

**How disease resistant are they? Currently, I am flowering my second batch of California Orange Bud, first batch went well...learned the importance of lighting while enjoying some bud, second batch infested with spider mites...killed two of three plants, tried to claim the third (probably did) but I have used sprays to controll the bastards. Used MH 400, HPS 400, 10 X 30 Watt flourescents daylight/bath and really got some killer bud so far.

**Maybe you can comment on an off topic of spider mites for me too. I did not have a problem with them during my first grow (cheap soil), bought new soil for the second grow and had them up the arse since (miracle grow soil).

**I never want to have mites again. Can I buy soil that has been treated? Boiled? Sterilized? or something?

Thanks

grown big bud from sensi for about 6 grows, and it ok. not the most hard hitting,or the tastest, the taste is smooth so fat in the bong. it grows one big cola if u prune the lower branches in the first two weeks of flowering and it helps with air flow,i take off the bottom 2 or 3 lower branches off when i do it and it always goes good for me. And watch out for humidity at night if the day temp is high, try and keep it as low as poss both day and night around 40-55% humidity, the lower the better. hope it helps jah bless stoned.gif

Ive read that u can sterilize the compost yourself in the microwave, 1 gallons worth at a time for high on 2 minutes, mixing half way....just a thought. Havent done this myself though as ive never had a problem with pests upto now....touch wood spliff.gif

Always put it in an old roasting dish and cook yourself up some bug free soil, never tried it but i am lead to believe it stinks like shit!

Just toss a pan full in the oven...hm...hm...hm

Microwave...hm...hm...even better...aah.

I'll just keep using the pyrethrin sprays.
