This is a pic of one of my leaves... I suspect it has Mg deficiency as it exhibits the symptoms of that, but it could be some type of insect too... damn my newbieness!

Can anyone help me in confirming what the problem with the plant is please?

Thanks in advance.

I think you're ok - had it been spidermite, you'd find corresponding 'oles on the underside - the leaves look generally healthy - I'd keep a close eye, but I wouldn't do anything drastic - yet! smoke.gif

Have you been misting/foliar feeding, looks a bit like how the leaves go if there's droplets of moisture on them magnifying the light unsure.gif

absolutely - if it were a deficiency, it wouldn't be in "blotches"! smoke.gif

if u look in the background of pic 2 it looks like classic mg symptoms. wink.gif

Well, Jorge's book suggests it's early Mg deficiency - I can believe this as I haven't been adjusting the nutes (my trucheon arrived today though, so that changes today!). I started them at half strength and have been topping up with 1/2 strength (twice this week)

They're due a fresh reservoir this evening, so may see a difference after that...

I thought it could be mites, but the spots are more copper coloured, and the underside relatively untouched...

Edit - oops posted this b4 I saw your post owderb! I think I might go with the Mg deficiency for now, but buy a water sprayer tomorrow just to be safe....

Oh I haven't done any foiliar feeding to date Booj...

First pic, leaf has leaf spot fungus, dead copper coloured necrotic tissue, there are also signs of slight Mg deficiency on the healthy parts..

Second pic only slight Mg deficiency.

Thanks very much for the advice. Re the fungus, should I look at getting a full spectrum fungicide?

Thank the lord it's not mites!

I grow organically, but a systemic fungicide would work but personally I would not want to smoke any of a treated plant.

Citrofresh would be a safe organic alternative.
