Well I recently recieved notification from hotmail that as from April it would no longer be possible to collect my hotmail via Outlook Express, without paying for the priviledge 34.gif

How the hell they thought they could charge me to recieve one of their services via another of their services is beyond me.... well anyway there has been a change of heart. 13.gif I got this e mail yesterday.

Recently, Hotmail® announced that in order to improve customer experience and reduce spam and junk e-mail abuse on MSN® services, Hotmail will no longer allow new e-mail accounts to be accessed via Microsoft® Office Outlook® and Outlook Express.

We are pleased to inform you that because you are an existing and valued customer, at this time your current Hotmail and MSN account(s) are exempt from this restriction and you will be able to continue enjoying access to those accounts from Outlook or Outlook Express. However, any new Hotmail or MSN accounts you create will not be accessible via Outlook or Outlook Express.

Because you actively use Outlook or Outlook Express to access one or more of your MSN Hotmail or MSN e-mail accounts, this could be the ideal time to consider subscribing to our powerful new
e-mail service - Microsoft Office Outlook Live.

The mail then goes on to try and sell me their latest product ...but you get the gist.
So peeps who use a supposedly free (microsoft owned) web based mail program will now have to pay for new accounts they wish to view via another (microsoft owned) program which they have already paid for. .... 34.gif
No wonder peeps hate the microsoft network.....greedy bastards.

In order to further bump up our already hideous profits, more like. If they really wanted to do summat about spam, stopping sending out all the microsoft spam they do would be good start, and closing spammer accounts may help too.

Are they sending you around the houses before you can view or delete any messages?
I'm in two minds whether to get rid of my hotmail account mad.gif

Yeah, I've noticed that, I use the webmail & whenever I wanna send owt I've got to do one of those "type the number you see." jobbies.

I may switch over to my UK420 email.

I have had that pop up when trying to use it too. Making me type the number.... they claim it is to ensure that you are you and not a bot. I havealso had problems using hotmail through outlook express lately. It's a pain in the neck. But hey, I don't pay for it so can't grumble too much I don't suppose. The web based mail is handy for when you are away from home and want to be able to collect your mail. And also a stealthier option for signing up to online forums etc, where you don't want to use your IPs addy. ph34r.gif

nother thing I have noticed with hotmail is that I no longer get the 100 emails a day with such fascinating titles as "Make her scream" , "Your schlong not long enough" and all the many viagra offers and online diplomas etc.
They have cleaned up their act recently.

CF good link thanks for that I may give them a try. wink.gif

Anyone know if Outlook and Outlook express are they one and the same thing? As there is a link there for hushmail via outlook but not Outlook Express. Bit of a dumb question I think unsure.gif 34.gif
