Dear Customer,

We are writing to you regarding the Microsoft Xbox console which you
purchased from Amazon.co.uk.

We have received notification from Microsoft that your console may
experience an electrical
component failure which could pose a fire hazard. Microsoft reports that in
almost all instances
recorded so far (less than 1 in 10,000), any damage caused by these
failures was contained within
the console itself or limited to the tip of the power cord at the back of
the console.

As a precautionary measure, Microsoft have announced that they will
voluntarily replace the
power cords on all Xbox consoles manufactured before January 13, 2004. The
replacement power cords
are designed to protect consumers and their Xbox consoles from rare
electrical component failures
that can pose a fire hazard.
To order your free replacement cord, or for more information, please visit
http://www.xbox.com and
click on the "Power Cord Replacement for Xbox" link, which contains full
details of how to check
whether your console requires a new power cord. While waiting for the new
cord to arrive,
Microsoft advise users to turn off their Xbox consoles when not in use.
