UK420 > Cultivation > Compost and Pots > Non-Organic Compost
grobag
Hi guys and gals

As I have just mentioned on another thread I have just changed the category of my style of growing from Organic to Compost. So I'll now be joining you guys on this forum from now on, Sorry.....lol.gif.

I first called myself organic believing it to be true, using Bio-Bizz, but later found out (here at UK420) that as I was also using bat guano I was not organic at all according to British standards.

Now I am preparing for this season's outdoor crop and was asking about manure and EO pointed out to me that I may not be organic. If the farm I'm using and the animals on it who's crap I'll be using, are not organic then neither am I.

Also there's my compost heap. It contains all sorts of scraps of vegetables and some of the supermarket bought stuff is far from organic so I'm also assuming my compost heap aint organic either.

Sorry for getting it wrong, but I think I'm now in the right place.

Cheers, Gro.

I think some people are a bit too picky m8. Organic, imo, means you're using no manmade chemicals. If someone once fed a horse a sugar cube is that horse's manure deemed non-organic?

Prolly not hvyfuel , but all the anti-biotics and chemical feeds every day does actually make it non organic. I wasn't being picky with grobag.

OK, then with the chemicals that can be found in rain these days, nothing is organic.

I know you weren't being picky with me; I am being with myself and I'm glad you pointed it out to me.

Cool glad you didn't think I was being picky.....but I know from my own experience that it is a bit of a minefield. As OT1 has pointed out tho most of the chems will be broken down in well rotted manure. Sounds fairly organic to me wink.gif

I must add to the membership of non-organic growing. Having tried BB and Canna Pro, I`ve found westlands multi with JI in no way inferior to the others. It has perlite in and stays surprisingly light and fluffly after many waterings. (once I`ve broken it up by hand of course)
