Ive just built a smallish grow room in my attic (2.5ft w, 1.5ft d, 4.5ft h) using a 250w HPS. Could anyone tell me if AK47 would be a suitable strain considering the height? If not could you tell me of something similar in potency and yeild that would. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Never grown it myself mate, but I don`t see why not. Firstly, smell is gonna be an issue as are temps and airflow. A good extraction fan is nessecary as is insulation.
You have about the same height to play with as me and I grow in the attic too.
It will be a must to top your first plants, so they slow down vertical growth and branch out. Once you have some viable cuttings from them, you can just veg em for just a bit and then flower while they are still relatively small. It will keep the height down nice and manageable. Works 4 me m8.

hi pal although i have grown under a 250w hps the room was a bit bigger but it would consistantly produce 4-5oz no probs

AK47 is generally a small bushy plant so will be ideal 4 your grow

is that 4.5ft high with the pot and light in or is that total height
Reason i ask is the folk i know who grew ak47 said the pheno's were so very different and if you read on overgrow it will tell you the same.
They had some right monsters in height so to call it a short squat plant is very misleading.There is a shorter type pheno but you would have to find one
Its also got a strong aroma and is a mainly sativa so i would say for a newbie with limited height this is certainly not one to learn with.
Just my opinion.

Wise words. Anything with skunk in it with be quite tall. A nice fat indica is what u want m8, there`s loads out there.

Im currently growing ak47.I put them into flower a couple of days ago,but i let them get far to big i think,so i had to tie them down.The plants are definitely sativa dominant and should show their sex after about 5 weeks veg.The branches are very flexable and if youres get to big just tie them down like i did or take clones and flower them.

High I have grown a lot of AK and some well over 4.5ft high. My grow room height is much bigger than yours but just tie them down and where is the problem
