just got back from amsterdam and i found out that homegrown fantaseeds grows and makes seeds of the fine british cheese, what is going on? i thought that cheese was only available in cuttings not seed, but asked the man in dam and he said that he got the seeds over here in england? does any one know if there are seeds in this land, coz if there is seeds there will be a male and the crosses would be out of this world,i want to cross the cheese with a non dominant indica to get yields up,ive got a nice big bud to cross it with to make the big cheese, and with this i will start to take over the world, first the cannabis cup then the world, HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA JAH BLESS TO ALL happy growing to all.

What are your opinions about Cheese? All I know is that it's new, powerful and smells of cheese.
Had a look at the strain base reports and did not find a fuller description.

when was you told this fella ? this is the last email i had from hgf dated 21st janu 05
Hi there,
It only exists from clones to clones…sorry to disappoint you….in the future we will be working on crosses with the cheese female we have…..but until then you will just have to visit our coffeeshop for the bud!
It is a strain which is The original skunk from the 80's (Sensi Seeds) original skunk strain...however, it now only exists from clones to clones...it can be found predominately in Luton, England. Check out the website www.uk420.co.uk and you will find more info…

So what does your mate think about these companies making readies on his strain?
Me personally would be firstly excited that i introduced the strain but then would be really pissed that they are making money from what was given to them as a generous gesture.
Hope they don't ruin this good ole brit strain as they have done with many others

bottom line is that cheese is only a sensi seeds strian that we've kept over the years so really the only credit anyone can claim is for keeping the strain going (and giving it a nick name)
...and really if someone makes cheese seeds that work(?) then thats good for the growing community...on the other hand if the product turns out to be a pale immitation and costs the grower time and money and trades on the cache(goodwillLOL) of the name then that stinks.

thanks cheese farmer, once again u come with the knowledge, there goes my dream in putting cheese in the cup,and no i cant take over the world, what a rassss. i was always told that it was a cross of afghan and skunk, but i bet that info is bad. CHEESE FARMER can u tell me if there are two pheno types of cheese, coz i have a very tight afghan type cheese and one of my friends in the grow world has one that is a bit diff they both smell the same and both give out the same smell near the end of flowering, the smell of 50 tom cats sprying in a small room, but my mates is a bigger yeilder, coz his buds are a bit more open and look more skunky,so can u put my mind at ease. jah bless one and all....

sorry dam , only one cheese but i know a few people who have crossed it , i know two people who are currently growing crosses that they are very happy with alongside the original .i imagine there will be a few more crosses out there which are good plants too .
perhaps if you and your freinds plants are so similar the difference you talk about is down to environmentals , have you tried swapping some cuts ? in other words grow his plant in your room and your plant in his to see what happens

might be worth a try.my plants look very different from my good friends grow ,both in nft but me battling with high temps coz of insufficient airflow and him fighting against the cold found in the loft of a badly built house .

The cheese plant seeds have been found by I & I in the U.k and i have spoken to the guy who has the original cheese that was supplied to Homegrown fantaseed in clone, He has it in seed and he also said it hasnt been crossed. I will be collecting the beans tomorow for my good friend gregorsmith from the usa, who told me about this strain and said it was not available so I & I investigated and found the main man who fantaseeds got it from,,,,wow,,,,...Luckily the cheese plant is from my area in the U.k...........My good friend greg will keep u peepz informed with pics & more info about this cheese plant.

i doubt you know the fella who gave fantaseeds the cutting jh but if you'd like to pm me a clue as to his identity then i wont totally trash your first post coz he's a friend of mine who got the plant from me in the first instance.
difficult to see how you have original cheese seed as it is a clone kept going since 88/89...at best you have one of two commercially available backcrosses which have yet to be proved....at worst you've been spun a line and will waste your time growing out something that is not cheese .
dont mean to be blunt but these kind of stories waste peoples valuable growing time.
respectfully
cf
....but
cheese is every where thanks to some selfless people ,if bbcheese is good it will do well if it aint people will still grow and smoke the original and bbcheese will aquire a bad rep.
it is possible to capitalise on the cheese ...i 've heard it so many times, someone come in the room 'i've got some cheese 'he says and rolls up with a good draw that smell nice but it aint cheese.
cheese has the possibility of become a generic like 'hoover' ....in some areas it is a bit like this already.
tbh if i was going to rip of people in the canna bizz i wouldnt waste time with seeds i'd put some food dye in a bottle ,do some aggresive marketing and start looking around for real estate in the carribean.

Hi Cheese farmer
I've only been on these boards a few weeks and until yesterday had not come across this strain. I had noticed your name and thought it was one of those particularly witty, only in the u.k, humour kind of things.
I just wanted to say in response to your above that holding on to good genetics over many years is not as easy as many people might think.....you deserve respect for holding on to it and sharing the love.
I know too many examples of good pheno's pissing away in the wind because someone lost the plot and had been too greedy to share wide enough to get it on the return....
Looks feckin sweet to me.
thanks loveweed,
but i cant take much credit for the keeping of this strain it sort of does it itself ....no one who gets a cutting usually stops growing the stuff

i have pored over this thread after just making my usual stupid comments. And was hoping to clarify in my mind Queijo....
Am i right in saying you have purchased some of the so-called (at the moment) Cheese beans, in addition you have some sts ones you generated. And finally you and cheesefarmer are going to put some kind of comparison of the two seeds against the queen clone herself..
If thats the case I couldn't be more excited (unless i was currently loading a big fat vape of her of course) good work for the scene guys...

Hi Loveweed,
Yes got some of the BB Cheese seeds on the way for a look at. Myself and a friend have used STS to reverse the clone and pollenate. So far looks good with the reversal working well, viable pollen produced etc, just got to wait to see how the seeds come out on that one. Recent experience with STS indicates that our high hopes wont be misspaced, although only time will tell.
I hope Cheese Farmer will be able to fit a grow in from these seeds, for comparisons, as that would be fantastic i think, do it all in one hit. Ive also used the Cheese in a couple of crosses to see how they do, with Crystal Loco and Destroyer..
Bests, Q
PS: edited to say if the STS seeds come out as hoped then ill send them into Joolz to distribute out to the members for free.

Right on Queijo.........
It is my feel judging from the vibe on C.W, and i am sure elsewhere, that this strain will become one of the top handfull of elite strains of the year. I mean just look at it!
This usually means a handfull of the most active clone traders on the other sites will get this strain, work it, share it amongst themselves and generaly not get it spread too far too quickly, i would list amongst such current (and longstanding) favourites such as, sour diesel, Elvis, trainwreck plus various others.
There is much prestige for some to hold these strains amongst their collections (and so there should be). Therefore for some one collective to take what is clearly a special strain, bypass the elitist elements of any scene, and dish it our free with any purchase from the collectives store is down right shocking ......un heard of.............and a fuckin great idea. Worthy of applause and support. The most elite genetics given away!!! what a good idea

The Cheese crosses and the STS reversed seeds will ultimately go to Joolz to be distributed out to members [i hope] also we will send a lot of seeds to budbuddies for sharing out with their members.
This will be in about a month, once we have dried and germ tested the seeds. The seeds will be untested apart from germ rates, so this will be a bit of a journey into the unkown for all, but im sure the crosses will show some amazing plants, and would ask any that do try them to put up some pics and reports so we can see the plants..
As all the genetics used are pretty special and rare im sure there will some exceptional plants from these seeds. First seeds to go out will be Cheese x Trainwreck, Cheese x Colombian/Thai, Cheese x Blackberry Widow...and Cheese x Cheese - Free cheese for all, revolution baby!

I think HGF is about to learn a hard lesson
hi p.l.
dont really see why hgf should come in for any flak , we gave them a cutting so they could put it on the menu basically so we could score some cheese in the dam.afaik they are only selling cheese and i dont know of any plans to release a seed line of there own (although if they did then that wouldnt bother me)
it sounds like queijo is giving out cheese crosses which will need a bit of sorting but will undoubtably contain some interesting material so like he says dont expect 'cheese' seeds.
part of the reason i went on this site was to reveal the true heritage of the cheese to enable people with more knowledge (and lights and room

) to start a breeding program if they wanted.
i dont know too much about breeding but since it is VERY difficult to get the cheese to hermie, and something is known about its lineage (being a sk1) it would be ideal for either a backcrossing type of program or some sort of chemical induction of male pollen to produce feminised seeds which would be close in charachter to the original and would be very unlikely to hermie themselves (given the cheeses reluctance and the chemical rather than photostress etc. process involved)
i think were in a bit of a unique position here , cheese cuttings are so ubiquitous in the uk thanks to the exodus collective and other selfless growers that any commercially produced seeds will have to be of such a good standard to make an impression ...really its such a hard act to follow i have to give respect to all and any newcomers.

I grew a Sensi SK#1 4 years ago whose dried bud stank like a museum exhibit. I gave most of it away to a mate who insists on adding tobacco to his weed
I've had it in a jar for 4 years and I still can't stand the smell - let alone the taste - though it's picked up a slight taint of marmalade from the jar
