me and 2 of my mates are going to the cup 0n 21/11/04 just wondered if anyone had been before and what there experiences are.
also we are staying at the hostel veteran and again wondered ifanyone had used this hotel.

I went to the Cup a couple of years back, 2001, or was it 2002, its all a bit hazy...

Anyway, on the whole it's not a bad trip. Your "judges pass" will get you into a fair few events, expo's, bands, talks(I saw Howard Marks, I know he's only in it for the money, but he was very entertaining) and you should fill a couple of bags of freebies.

You also get a little book, listing all the coffeeshops who have entered weed. The idea is that you try and visit them all, buy samples (some have reduced rates), make notes and get your book stamped. Get a certain number of stamps, and at the end of it you get a t-shirt, and a vote in one of the categories.

On the down side, it is very busy, lots and lots of americans, and every shopkeeper eager to wring the last guilder from this end of season party.

I pretty quickly gave up on the t-shirt and vote, far too manic. Instead, I would park myself in the corner of a cofeeshop for a few hours, have a good old smoke, and watch small groups of yanks come in, buy one gram, have a puff, get their stamps and rush off to the next in the book!

Glad I went, but generally prefer off-season, winter trips now.

I have been to the last seven or eight cannabis cups and every time have mixed feelings about it.
Overall i think it is worth a visit since it is quite unique, and there is lots of serious strains around to smoke.
At the Melkweg will be the every day convention, and every year there is lots a free bonghits and freebies.

During the cannabis Cup week we will, in Amnesia coffeeshop, do vaporizer evenings every night, and i hear that we will be donated lots of new strains weed to vaporize you all for free.

All in all it will be easy to deal with the US invasion of Amsterdam since we will all be stoned as f#%k.

I hope to see a lot of you guys there.

Last night, on my way to the melkweg, pocket full of weed's and hash, what do i think of the cannabis cup? i cant think straight anymore, just smoked a big fat spliff of cheese, courtesy of the Budha, thanx, followed by some amnesia haze and a Barneys bubble, mercedes is just rolling up the next cheese, go girl, Barney is making my head spin.
Last night at the melkweg, announcing winners and all that malarkie, going to get as much bonghits and vaporizerhits with as much exotic strains as possible.
My vote goes to Budha's cheese, not impressed with the Haze strains offered at all, maybe tonight more luck.
