I'm starting a new growing attempt using hydroponics. Medium is LavaRock in 6" x 6" pots with 1 month old white widows in veg growth using a 1000watt Metal Halide. 5 White Widow's from DP i belive. Also, 1 Reg Swag that's definately not as purty as the Widow's.

My question is how long should I grow them [from seed] in a hydro setup before flowering? Am I only limited by overhead growth? Is it something about when the THC is at its highest?

I know about like hairs and while its budding you wanna pick em when the number of Clear / Brown hairs is about 50/50.

I'll be posting pics of the baby's so that should help with the mental picture.

Oh, and we were using a CO2 tank with regulator to keep air pressure at 1.5 ppm CO2 constantly (as the MH is on 24/7) but, the tank ran out and has yet to be filled up again (it was on foor about 2-3weeks non stop with the regulator).

Any info would be COO.

& are you running an extractor fan?
If so, thats a hell of alot of co2 down the pan!!
co2 can also have a detrimental affect if you use too much, it can KILL your plants!!

better running it for 30 minutes to 1 hour with the extraction turned off IMHO

Hey mate white widow eh if I may add my opinion from what I have been reading on lots of growing forums W/W does not like lots of nutes so back off on over feeding them thats about all I know of w/w.

Spot on there bul-ituser... they are very Susceptible to nutes, so keep an eye out for 1st signs of nute-burn

Check out someof the other grow diaries on here and get an idea for how other WW grows have gone. You will be able to veg yours for a little longer than most because of the penetration of your 1000w light.

Personally i flower quite early to keep the hieght down but i flower with a 600w so i have to.

Will you be able to change this to HPOS when you are flowering or are you sticking with the MH all tyhe way through?

If you stick with the MH, you will have a lower yield but a more potent crop (if my memory of OTs experiemnt serves me correctly - can anyone else remember if this is the case?)

Anyways, you should be able to answer the question yourself by checking the diaries.

Yeah chip i think your right.
If i remember results where better when you veggged with mh all the way, then for flowering revert to your hps. But maybe pop the mh back in for the last week or 2 of flowering as this could probably improve the high.

Co2 would be best used when you know more about it, you can overdose them, but the levels required to do that are very high (if i remember right?)
But if you are running Co2 with the fans on you may as well not bother tbh.
Try looking HERE for some Co2 info.

Also MadShroomer...i would recommend not hosting your MJ stuff in the locker aye ?...wink wink .

Here's a pic of one of my ladies from my last grow White Widow by Dutch Passion.I found early on that this strain prefers minimum nutes.

I do have a HPS bulb that will be used for flowering. The Metal Halide and HPS are round 460watts not 1000 like I said. I'll have to post the pics soon hopefully i'll have a chance sunday. later.
