Full Version: Recommendations For Italy?
UK420 > Cultivation > Strain Base > Strain Talk

Hi, I realise this a UK site, but being that I'm Scottish and everyone is friendly here, I wondered if anyone could recommend something decent for me to grow in the climate that I am in.

I am located central Italy, with long hot summers, in fact just now the weather is still quite warm, if a little more changeable than it was.
I'll be growing on my balcony if that's any help.
I'd also appreciate advice on when I should be getting them planted next year.

TIA for any help.
Bish
There's plenty of outdoor vars that would do well in your neck of the woods lummer wink.gif

Thanks for the quick reply Bish.

I have already had a wee browse but all I could find were descriptions for stuff "particularly suited to a northern climate".
I'll delve a bit deeper now though.

I'd def be up for growing/donating for medi use. I just need a little guidance on strain selection and then obtaining seeds for my climate, then help on how to distribute after harvest. wink.gif

Hi!

Another scot from central Italy!
That makes two of us (well only half a scot but... )!

Just keep an eye out for the first frost, that is you cut off date, if the flower time of a var goes over that you will need a heated greenhouse to grow them, vedi sativas.

Depends a lot were you are in central Italy, the appeninnini are very different from the adriatic coast lol.gif

The real problem that worries me for outdoor grows is heat and water, it get's v. parched and that's always a worry, don't really now about how different strtains take different water stress...

Without giving too much away, I am located south of a rather large 'eternal city' wink.gif . I can actually see the sea from one of my balconies.

My intention was to get everything ready for a planting next spring, but from what you say it seems possible to still plant outside just now?

Having done a bit of reading, I'd hope I could find some suited to the hot climate. what do I have to watch with "water stress"?

Ah choices choices. wink.gif

I'm dying for a smoke, it's bad enough moving without factoring in another country and language too. sad.gif
