Full Version: Top Sativa?
bin growin indica dom plants for to long now,would love to try some 100% pure sativas,the only ture sativa i have grown is kail mist and that was the tits,is there a better sativa out there? and if any one has any little tricks about growing sativas to there full eg when to top or how to bend to make full use of its hight and its streach.. any help would be good help.jah bless all growers..
I was going to suggest Kali Mist but then read your post, I would have a look at Thai Tanic from Flying Dutchman ( [ADVERT REMOVED] ). I've got some Kali clones but if I didnt I'ld try the Thaitanic or perhaps Pure Power Plant, have a look at the reports for this strain it looks crazy.
Also perhaps the Thaixskunk from High Quality Seeds or perhaps the Hazexskunk from Nirvana (you can tell I'm a cheapskate). I would avoid the Durbans as most have Indica in them.
I grow with a SCROG under a 250 and this worked well on my last grow of a sativa african bagseed.
Under a bigger light you could probably get away with flowering early and tying down.
By the way how was the Kali High? Did it produce any paranoia or was it "clear"?

Well it depends, indoor outdoor, what wat of light? I have a 400hps and I have a Sativa mummy that I take cuttings from and flower them straight away. I end up doing a wee bit of training wi twine, but it's worth it after 16 weeks 
R.B.S.. the high of the kali mist is fucking out of this world,it was clear and light on your head not cotton wool head,more of a happy up buzz wid the random happy happy joy joy head,sort of weed that u could smoke be4 u have brekfast in the morning that would put u on a high all day without turning into a bong mong. dident find it to be paranoia weed at all,hate paranoia feeling... thanks for the help bro jah bless

Dutch passions's durban poison is pretty good, never grown it myself but have friends that did... a dizzy happy high, good stuff

Just so happens that I recieved me NYC Diesel from the store today
I love this smoke, a very distinct taste to it and a superb high, have never grown her tho so we'll see how I get on. Watch out for the grow thread in due course
Not that impressed with Purple Haze. Kali Mist is next on the grow list for the Sat high. Growing BL's JH on current grow, looks like I've got a MF of the Sat female gene trait, RA, RA.
thanks all,still racking my brain on what strain,but the N.Y.C sounds good so i will keep on looking for some cuttings or seeds,any other good sativas u no of would be good the more choice the better,thanks again for all your help that is what i love about this site the hole grow community helping each other,we need to stick together in this world of corruption and grasses,u can tell i have bin to play wid jack and jill last night. jah bless and one love to all the growing community.

the sensi Silver Haze I got growing atm looks more like an indica than anything else , dunno why the hell it's called haze it looks nothing like a sativa , it's short very compact big fat fan leaves and greasy lookin buds .
tryied super silver haze and it the nuts but the high is a mong not a clear high,think its the NL in it,tyied the sensi silver haze and didn't think much to the high at all,but the NL#5x haze sounds good only herd good things about it,but does any one no how it grows,by that i mean does it strech like a bitch or does the NL help that side,and does it branch out all over the place?loads of things i need to no on it so any help on this or NYC would be good. any more ideas on sativas would be most helpfull cant have to much to choose from, thanks and jah bless
Got Sensi's Silver Haze on the grow myself - more Sat in my socks tbh! Though there is one who is taller than the rest & producing a nice long cola. We'll wait & see for a smoke test whether i'll keep any.

hi cheesy, u right bro am growing cheese,along wid double dutch,and somango,and nebula.......going to take out the smango and try to put some ting better in its place,.....i grow in beds mate so i can chop and change when i like so it all good,dont think i could just smoke one strain..
i have not choped the cheese yet,but if fucking smells think the hole road can smell the shit,it getting worse as it gets ripe,the cheese is a sat and indica cross so i dont think it would be that clear like kali mist.... hows your end bro? jah bless all the grow fam....

Hehe, it stinks like no other strain..but its worth it for sure. Paradox devils home made carbon scrubber is doing a fine job of keeping the stench down a bit though (thanks PD) details in the diy kit forum. But you can still smell it in the last two weeks no matter what...

Its funny but to me the high is one of the clearest. Im going to grow some Kali in a few weeks. But for me the cheese is the closest to the "old school" skunk i know and love...its a nice mix, and a good up high, especially if cropped that bit earlier...Im going for a indica in the mix next need something to bring me back down..

Hi cheesy thanks for the bit about the carbon scrubber think i will have to make one bro..if u say that the cheese is a nice clear high i might play around wid harvest times.......got a bit of info on the cheese that will make your old school side happy,cheese is a cross of a secret skunk and a old school afghani,thus the red stems and tight buds and the shit load of thc glands,love the old school flavor...... cant wait to chop them down now u said that...i have some nice indica babys in my mum room if u live near a london train line.... what sort of indica are u looking for bro? jah bless

The cheese is weird, it definately makes a huge differance to the high dependant on the cropping times. More so than any other strain i know. First time i smoked it was cropped at 8weeks exact, and wow. Unreal - very clear high, clearer than pure organic grown sats ive smoked in the dam. Seriously....it made me rush out and start growing that day.
Last crop i took out to 10,11 and 12 weeks - cropping plants at those stages, it was a bit dissapointing to be honest, possible better yeilds but 80% body stone, couchlock biased. Totally brilliant of course, smell gorgeous and still the lovely flavours, but real body stone, the opposite of the 8 week high.
To be sure i have just taken some out at 7 week. This is just a bit too early for the strain, slightly (imho). But the high is back just as i want it
whhhooooosh, straight up....laughing to meself. Have a play my friend and make sure you put at least some on flush at week 7 to compare, crop em at 8 and see...with this strain it may appear the triches are still real clear at >8 weeks but im still going to crop em all at 8 exact.Be interesting to see what you think when your smoking yours..

Just to drop in IFYDM. Kali Mist is on my next grow schedule for xmas crop, shut the kids up and nice toys to play with as well when they've gone to bed. Cheesy - Found Sensei Star by Paradise Seeds to be a very good Indica, chop slightly earlier to get a bit more of a buzz before the HUGE couchlock. Chop later for TOTAL bodylock. Nice, easy strain to grow, short and fat with good yields. Be interesting to have a side/side Kali grow. Probably start mine in the next couple of weeks.
i just finished doc greenthumbs Acapulco Gold and smoked some kwickdried bud today. It was harsh as youd expect but it was very good. its almost as good as docs Malawi id say. both top drawer smoke
