All dimensions in my profile, but it's just a double door kitchen cupboard,
binary
4" extraction top left, oil filled rad against back wall which isn't very efficient but the only way I could fit it in. Helps the night time temps stay above 20 deg, without it temps dropping to 18 deg.

Looks nice smile.gif

Passive intakes on both sides, you can see one bottom left.
binary
Screwfix baffles to lightproof the intakes, I'll use black silicon next time, used loads of white to get it light tight. 34.gif

binary
TD 160 hanging off bungees, had planned to attach a Phat Filter to it only to be told by my local hydro shop it's not up to the job. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. mad.gif

Welcome to the second lot of shitty timers I've tried that stick on. 34.gif
binary
Couple of people asked about the reflector, just an adapted HID Dutch barn Door to tak two Envirolites side by side. Twists a bit, but seems OK at the moment.

Yes mate, going to do at least a couple of grows to flower in this cupboard and experiment with topping and training. I'm trying to keep them as short as possible and I'm very concious of their height, going to allow them to get to approx 12", top them and put them into flower around the 1st September, hopefully allow for them to double in height.

It's my first grow so just trying to learn about the basics growing, learning shedloads just by studying the plants carefully in their different stages and concentrating on trying to get the environment right. Not expecting much yield, hence only 3 plants and if it all goes belly up, I've still another 5 seeds to try out.

Long term plan once I feel confident growing is to get a mother plant going in another box, then use cuttings for a mini-scrog setup in this growroom.

Just had a look at your filter, excellent hope you don't mind but I'd like to PM you some questions? Need to get this sorted as their starting to smell now, funny it was a diagram of a filter paradox_devil666 posted a while back that I saved only the other night for a filter idea. biggrin.gif
G-Whizz!
Could you supply the dimensions in cm please of your lovely reflector wink.gif

LO mate, the width, viewed from the front is 15.5", depth front to back is 16.5", the depth of the curve (top to bottom) is 5". Each Envirolite is mounted 2.5" off-centre, leaves just enough space between them.

I'm going to modify it though as I feel the lights could be further apart to get a better spread of light, knocking up another reflector now for flowering and that'll be 24" in width (viewed from the front).

Hope that's clear, if not I can knock up a diagram. smile.gif

Got all the materials for my filter together, just got to knick one of the kids toy boxes. When that's built I'll put up details in the next couple of days, got to be quick the stink is getting quite bad. 34.gif

hope your grow is very successful smoke.gif spliff.gif

a stupid Q here:

am i right in saying that a passive intake is hole in the wall to draw in fresh air right? well if theres no fan drawing the air in then how do you stop light coming in?

in summary how do you stoplight coming into the grow room through the passive intake??

Cheers.

Cheers mate, but a serious lack of headroom that is quickly becoming a pain. 34.gif

Going to shortly just use the cupboard as a little vegging area and build one of THESE as a flowering area, just haven't decided what lighting to use for flowering yet. wink.gif

Thanks 3FF, the missus took sympathy on my shite DIY skills and bought me a filter from the UK420 store. thumbsup.gif

Very good quality, didn't realise how much the room smelt until only 30 minutes after fitting the filter. It's removed all traces of smell, here's a picture of it in situ.

Good setup mate, where'd ya get that fan from ? I need to sort a proper filter out this time... and its gotta be outside the GR due to size restictions.

Puz ... yinyang.gif
binary
The fan puz is an S&P TD160 which is a 4" fan, the filter is a 5" fitting hence the reducer between the fan and filter, expertly sealed with duct tape. I'm finding, although my growroom is small, the TD160 running constant on it's slow setting is pushing plenty of air through the filter and it still sucks a sheet of newpaper against the passive intakes.

Looks good B.... wink.gif

Noticing the difference in only 30 mins. proves what a useful present it was.. smoke.gif

I've been using those timers in the picture as well... best few quid I ever spent ,ive had them 2 years, using them without contacts - no problem - I think they came from Argos.. 34.gif

Looking nice Binary!

The 5" Filter is alot longer than the 4" one (i`ve got)..

I ended up fixing my filter/ducting last night too. My carbon filter had always worked (for a while) but then I started to notice a very mild hint of weed in my room so I took apart the system last night.

Found I`d put a hole in the ducting along with breaking a small clip on the junction box on the RVK pinch.gif - So using our friend the duct tape I sorted out the fan and redid the ducting, no more smell smile.gif

cant beat a bit of duct tape

Been following this thread. Although my grow not set up yet, I've learnt loads, especially about ventilation.

I've been on screwfix and did a search for "baffle" but could not find it. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction please, or do you have you a link, cos those look like just the ticket for my drobe.

Thank you

No problem and sorry mods if this is spam, but I don't think so. pinch.gif 1eye.gif

http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.js...=53574&id=12025

If that link fails, the product is the "Telescopic Underfloor Vent", part number 12025 at £2 each. Beware, they are bigger than they look, the dimension of the aperture is 2"x9". I used two putting one at each side at the bottom, I'd rather have an excess of air running through I can close off than not enough air running through.

It's not actually in my kitchen. lol.gif It's an old base cupboard, double door one from under a sink that I got for a £1 off the tip. Knocked the back and base out to give a bit more room, screwed it to the wall then attached an old bit of kitchen worktop over the top. Told the missus I was making a workbench in the garage. biggrin.gif

Cheers Binary for the link, that looks just the thing, and cheap too.

guitar.gif if struggling with hiegh in the room when plants on bloom try putting a net about 21cm above top of plant when goes on bloom.

then when plant grows, ease the tops outward and through the gaps in the netting. Gives you more room to grow and lets more light down to the iner branches which are shaded by tops if left natural.

found to be having good results.
