I've been patiently working on this for some time now and it's nearly time to get the shed up and running. It's a 7x5 pent shed, split in two. One side has a mother/clone cabinet the other a flowering room. The flower room is insulated and the floor carpeted to cut down on noise. Also easy rollers used instead of chains on the lights for the same reason. Hate to think how much it cost to put it all together but I'm sure it will be worth it.

From the outside it's very clandestine and no way to tell whats going on inside (except there is a small humm that can be heard from about 2' away).

The basic principle is that air is drawn through the mother chamber with a TD160 and pushed into the flower room. The flower room has an RVK 100 extracter with sonoducting pushing the air out the bottom. The air is then ducted to the side of the shed so it does not linger underneath. There are additional air inlets in the flower room. Both the TD 160 and RVK 100 are controlled with a prima controler. The shed is heated with an oil filled (700w) radiator and an additional heating element (70w) is placed in the mother chamber and controlled with an aquatic thermostat. The shed is protected with an RCB breaker and I have also installed a electric meter so that I can calculate electrical usage. I plan my first grow to be soil (bioBizz Allmix) but have installed extra electrical outlets for future hydro.

The plan is for 2-4 plants from seeds. The mother/clone box was just built because I had the time and figured I may want to use mother and clones later on.

Lights are 125w flouro (seedlings), 250w MH or HPS for veg, 250 or 400w HPS for flower. I have all the lights metioned and can use any cobination that seems appropriate at the time.

Please take a look

your garden will still reek of ganga. i think if you have neighbours be careful of that as we grew in a shed and thought the ventilation was sound until 1. it got broken into and 2. the guy who owned the shed my grow mate got busted because the neighbours complained of the smell.

sorry to be heavy m8 as it looks good to me just be careful if you have people next door as your photo looks like you do, watch the smell and happy happy growing wink.gif yinyang.gif

sorry you are still posting, the air is coming outa the bottom and going where?? your garden will smell m8.
really sorry m8 to be heavy as i just look at it and think cause of our experience years ago i just think SMELL as i think it is the most important part of your secret garden, how to get rid of the smell safely. yinyang.gif

Filtered though
The Major
we had the same filters and used charcoal filters as well industrial duty ones. sorry for picking at it m8, try what we did and have a good old toke in the shed and come outside and have a sniff, then grow it and smell the diffrence!

sorry for being para on you but i would hate to see all that work for a twat nextdoor to grass you. I am probably havering on about nothing but thought i would share that with ya! p.s. nice shed wink.gif

Yes, I am concerned about the neighbors. Besides filtering not sure what else I can do. The shed is about 1.5 meters from the fence line where two other neighbors gardens meet. So my shed is located towards the bottom corner of two other peoples gardens. One person has a shed in that corner and they dont get behind it much (that I can tell anyway), the other has a flower border which keeps them about another meter away. My fence is 5' tall and of the solid overlaping type. The humming sound from the shed might also be a concern.

One bennefit of waiting so long to start growing in my shed is that the neighbors wil at least of gotten used to the shed being there. I also try to be pleasant and helpfull to the neighbors

Any ideas about getting rid of the smell? I've considered an ozone generator but decided against due to the health risk they impose.

I should be flowering in the winter when people will be spending less time in there gardens

I may not be able to eliminate all risk, but need to get this small grow under way

Looking good Citizen thumbsup.gif , it looks like you put a great deal of effort in getting your grow space together. I reckon if the shed is insulated well and youre using a carbon filter smell shouldn't be a problem stoned.gif

Hi Citizen,
nice shed mate like the electric set up and can tell you've put plenty of effort into it.
regards to the ozone generator i use one in my room and used to work with the stuff. There is only a health risk if you plan on sitting in your shed for long periods, the most it should do if you go into shed for 15-20 mins at a time is give you a sore throat for an hour or so.
ozone has a couple of advantages though.
1. the air you are venting out will be clean and odourless even if you invite the neighbours round for a bbq.
2. Also it kills germs and bacteria ( i used to use it to clean old water coolers ) which might be a good idea as your grow is semi outside.

If you do get one put it on a timer, my room is 25m3 and i run it 15 mins every hour as it takes 30-45 mins to clear. and set timer to have an hour off so you can work in there if you usually go in around the same time or just turn it off and wait 45 mins.

bit of a crap photo but it's on shelf to left.

Thanks snipe!

I might give in a purchase one, I'll see how I get on with the carbon filter first. I have a replcement filter ready so ther will be no lag time in changing it out if nessesary.

I see you use Co2 as well, very high tech 13.gif

Great work Citizen you been pretty busy. was thinking about the noise could you blag it with your neighbours that you've got a fridge/freezer in there? your using a shed so i'd guess that there aint a lot of space in that house do you get me? re the smell as a measure if not a solutino would be to grow some smelly plants out side the shed. not sure whats as smelly as ganja but i cant have all the answers can i?

erm just one point air outlet should be high not low i know this will make a pain in the ass like but air moves more freely upwards plus the smell would be better rising from the top rather than the bottom id say

u look like u got a handle on it tho are they td 250 fans ? or td160 fans

if u have powerful fans then outlet at the bottom will be fine smile.gif

good project ya got going there citazen well done bud alot of tiem and thinking m8 nuiceone smile.gif

Thanks for the great ideas. If the neighbors do comment on the humm I'll say I have a chest freezer in there (also covers the reason for frequent visits). The noise seems to be the Lti (RVK) fan, it humms when used with the speed control. But it's not very noticable at all.

I'm more concerned with the smell and have thought of planting lavender near the vent (perhpas later). I do have some other tall plants up against the fence to hopefully help difuse the air. Also a trellis at the top of the fence.

I have thought that in winter there may be a risk of water vaper (like a dryer vent)being evedent but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I notice dthat Growell have £15 of the Hydrozone Ozone Generator at the mo

good lookin shed citizen and the smell wont be as much as a problem as people tend to use there garden less as winter is nearly here
Citizen
Yeah, I wasthinking that too, exspecially if I run on a night schedule (lights and vents after dark). But I bought an ozone geny just to be safe 13.gif

That looks great. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Have you run any tests on temperatures yet?

I'm using ID160 and the same rating radiator as yourself but in a far smaller grow area, mines in a garage. I'm having problems keeping the temperature during lights out above 20 deg, currently dropping to 18.

I'm going to move the radiator, either lay it flat under a false floor or put it near on of the intakes in the hope it'll heat air as it's draw in. Also going to change the light cycle to on at night and off during the day.

Just thought I'd mention it as I cocked up placement of my radiator. whistling.gif 34.gif

I just pulled a Curry plant out of my garden, man it stank, you could smell it as soon as you walked in the garden, and it's a pretty plant. I pulled it out cause I couldn't stand the smell. Get yourself a wee herb patch going close to the shed, hehe, fresh herb to cook with whistling.gif

Good idea, I'm also thinking of plants to help deaden any sounds

Yes I did a pepper plant grow in there mid winter (2002/2003)and had no probs with temps. I also did a DP bluberry cannabis grow summer 93 which I terminated in early veg for security reasons. During my summer grow with 250w HPS I had problems keeping temps down but this weas due to lack of adequate ventelation. I have since added the TD 160 input fan and the extra (round) passive vents.

Thanks all for interest, kind words, and help.
