Alrighty everyone.

Got some clones on the go (Blueberry-more sativa phenotype) and they're just starting to root. I was wondering, when should i put them on to flower? At what stage of root development are they strong enough to take the strain?
Thanks muchly in advance

From what i've heard, you ccan flower whenever you want, but if it's when their 4 inches high obviuosly not gonnna get much from it. many say that if your goin for the quick cutting and flower technique, 8 inches is a good minimum height to start flowering at.

safe guys,

I wonder if this question has ever been asked before 34.gif

Am I the only one that bothers to use the search facility on this site, or peeps just plain lazy pinch.gif ???

Hi there mate i'm a first timer so could be wrong lol.gif, but i think you can flower almost straight away but as prev. replys say your not gonna be doing too much smoking so any size will do when you begin flowering remember the plants will stretch by aroung another 20-30% ( double check that ). The main thing i was thinking was whether you are gonna need more clones to continue your next grow. If so you'll need to veg them for a while to make them big enought to get some healthy cuttings from, this you want to be doing during veg.

Like i say i'm a first timer so let me know what other people say.

I'm 4 wweks into my grow have a look at the pics my plants are 12-14 inches but i'm gonna give them another week or so

When you shorten your veg period from 18/6 & put to flower (12/12) you'll get some streatch and when you bud it out there will be some loss of yield.

Put simply - Less veg less bud.

I would of thought that most strains would benefit from between 3-6 weeks vegging before flowering.
Also try using a Metal Halide bulb for vegging healthy plants.

MH bulbs ARE good for vegging, but if you can't cope with all the heat problems that will bring try an envirolite or two. You'll be able to get the bulb right down, almost touching the plants they run that cool thumbsup.gif

hey G m8, i didn't think heating was a problem for you anyways whistling.gif

bang on with the enviro m8, a few times i went up to the loft to see my babies gently hugging the bulb, providing you don't leave it more than 24 hrs before raising the bulb they shouldnt suffer too much.

i have never used an HPS, but already i don't like them lol.gif

big up to the east side enviro massive

no.gif Not when I'm running with the enviros. I do have an HPS, but in this hot weather it's only being run through the night. This takes advantage of two things:
  • Cooler night air runs the HPS cooler than in the day
  • Cheaper electricity

I may continue with this night business until around September, when day temps are more reasonable thumbsup.gif

HPS lights rule, enviros are for girls tongue.gif

My prob is that I have ONLY a blue enviro which I run with the HPS. At the mo the cupboard is in flowering mode, but I really need a red one, so when temps are high, I can just run the red enviro on its own.

Alternatively, I could try and organise it so that I am not flowering during July-August period wink.gif

Come on out from behind that chair BB and take spam_laser.gif like a man!!!
