There was a lot of criticism about it, but did anyone grow it? any opinions? (can't find/be bothered to look for the thread).

Yep not been impressed with the lowryders. I gave my mate 4 to put in his grow room, 3 turned out to be males, they grew to about 3 inches then stopped, and showed there balls after 4-5 weeks.
The 1 female I had, just stopped growing at around 2 inches, sproated a few hairs and didn't do anything else, it's been 9 weeks now and all the hairs are brown, but I reckon there ain't even a spliff on there.
Will post some pics up this week, you'll piss yourselves laughing at the poor pathetic thing.
I beleive other growers on other sites have ahd more luck than me with this strain but it def gets the thumsb down from me.
As vlad says, just try and get yourself some quality cutting and your already half way there.

ruderalis?

- its a "land race" that auto-flowers after the 7th or 8th internode whatever the lighting, but is known to be severely deficient in strength - some seed companies are trying to produce hybrids that "up" the strength, but have heard no reports on how good they are!

If you want small plants, grow from cuttings (which also means as little as 8 weeks between crops, not 14-18)

I know that Toker from UK Cultivator had a successful grow and gave it the thumbs up.I was worried about the ruderalis element and not being able to clone.
The distinct advantages are shorter time to harvest as there is no veg cycle, hermaphrodite free and when mature the plant measures no more than 12 inch. After I finish my current grow I am going to give it a try, thats if it is in stock as it seems to sell out quite quick.

would be quite useful 4 me as i could to a kind of outdorr SOG earlier in the season. though i would need time to make some seeds first. might tink bout this one

there does still seem to be a some contoversy and problems surrounding this variety , but I can see some real potential with this , would love to be able to get my hands on some beans , but they seem to be a nightmare to get hold of at the moment .

Here's a pic of my lowryder as promised, although I must say it's been grownon my window sill in a tiny pot and not fed regularly, luckily enough it was pollianted by the male I also had growing, prob no more than 5-6 seeds tho.
Its only 3 inch tall but does look pretty healthy and even has a nice coating of trichomes. If there is ever an award for the most pathetic ganja plant ever this might just win.
Sorry about pics but someone still has me digi cam so used my phone:

lmfao

Ok so they have beaten the hight problem, now all they need is to make it sprout more than a J's worth of bud per plant
Sorry SB, not laughing at you, just laughing with you

- a J's worth? Remember thats got to dry out yet.
Maybe 2 - 3 plants a spliff by the time its dried and cured

Shit!
Is that all you put in your J's Joolz?

I see what you mean though, it is a bit piss poor.
Good luck with your COTC entry for next month, and let's hope that your next grow is a bit more plentiful!!!

no way is there a j's worth, a little toot in the pipe maybe

Well I like it anyway, kinda like a bonsai ganja plant
Next grow will be with some fine genetics thankfully, got some c99 clones from a very generous fellow grower, should manage a q's worth maybe

In the Grow Bible it says that although males are not as powerfull as females, and that only the leaves can be used. A good strain male leaves can be more powerfull than a weak strain female such as ruderalis.
Now it makes me think, why are people bothering to make ruderalis hybrids?
Surely if folks want to do a quick, low power, probably rubbish taste grow then they might as well bang a few strong strain indica seeds out (Skunk?), and harvest all the top 6" leaves only after about 6 or 7 weeks. Dry em for a week in a cool draw, and cure em for 2 weeks.
Thoughts?

What would happan if u cross it with earlygirl from homegrown fantaseeds, and then found a male and female from that cross, and start to back cross, would it be stable or would it flid out,if the lowryder does not hem it should be ok i think, that way u would get a bit of a better bud size and hopefully keep some of the better things about it. if earlygirl auto flowers at 8 weeks would it drop even more when crossed????????????
