Spot on Jammin'!
The secret is to allow circulation in the room without actually having the "flow" blowing over the buds, as this causes "quick-drying", which ultimately causes a harsh, "dry" smoke.
Keeping the buds dark will help retard the natural degradation which occurs within the THC as it "ages" whilst keeping the drying buds in a lit environment is meant to produce a less potent "cure" , but if I'm honest I have no personal proof of this, but what do I know!
What I do know is that still, moist air is more likely to produce mould spores than air which is refreshed and constantly moving, with possible dire consequences!
So to answer your question, the drying buds do not need fresh air laden with CO2, but they do need fresh air so an air exhange is recommended where possible. An oscillating fan giving a gentle breeze in the drying space will help prevent mould!
Hope this helps.
Peace.
