Hey all. Well seeing as its morning and I've just had a toke, I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a new grower but have toked for about 7 years now, which may not seem a lot but considering my age...well, you know what I mean... Anyway I'm in Notts and off to study medicine or biomedical sciences at uni this Sept so I may be looking for fellow growers in the Leeds or Sheffield areas! I decided to start growing because I have the freedom of my room to do so (my family are also fans of bud and have few objections to me growing it). I'm also spending far too much money buying it, despite getting large (and very, very potent, might I add) homegrown deals.
I've been doing a week or two of research and have since germinated 3 of my 5 seeds, well, when I say germinated, I mean I've achieved radicles of approximately 4-5mm. The radicles sprouted somewhere inbetween 48-72 hours and I'm still waiting for the other 2 to pop, although I started the germ process later with those. Now for the questions...
1. Since I have quite a bit of space to play with and don't have to hide any growing evidence, how would you recommend growing?
2. The germinated seeds are in peat pots (some [American?] people call them Jiffy pots) and about 2-3cm down into the mix. How often should I water them? Obviously I won't let the soil dry out, although I also don't want to over-water my seedlings.
3. What are the best conditions for seedlings? An ideal place in my room is the windowsill but that receives a lot of light and for most of the day. I am thinking that is too excessive for seedlings and is probably contributing to drying out my soil medium. Are seedlings better cool or warm(ish?)?
4. When should I expect to see the cotyledons? About a week or so after sowing?
5. Do I pot them in larger pots (would you recommend 8cm diameter?) after the cotyledons appears or after the 2nd set of leaves? How much light will the plants need to survive at this point? Willl windowsill light be sufficient or are lights the likely solution here?
6. When is the time to think about additional fertilisation, when the plants are a month old? The soil already contained a set mix, although I'm thinking it'll be lacking in nitrogen.
7. I'm in the process of looking for lights. I estimate having between 1-4 plants growing simultaneously. But since I'm not sure how to set up my growing area, the issue of lights is a confusing one. Any recommendations from similar growers? Or more importantly, anyone know of any bargains in the UK?
Sorry for all the newbie style questions guys, it's just I have found conflicting information on some of the topics. Any help or feedback is much appreciated. Must be off now, I'm attempting to do revision for final A-levels exams, but when stoned, Chemistry doesn't exactly seem easy! Hehe.

P.S. Just wanted to comment on what a brilliant site you have here! Nice one!!
