ok just haveing a look thouge my groowshop mag and seen these bulb's and
they are the same price son t plus and osram nav t super both £40 ...

what's the best bulb for growin
nav182
HI J.A.S

I asked the same question previously and OT1 gave me a good reply. Apparently if my memory serves me correct in tests Son-T-Plus was 2nd highest and Nav-T-Plus the highest yield.

Hope that's enough info, do a search on the site if you want more detail

Nav

PS: Oh yeah and Metal hallide are the best for flowering

do you not meen M.H is bast for veging ....

thank's nav il go for the osram nav t super bulb ..

how bad is the sylvania bulb all it say's is sylvania hps (shp-ts 600w)
can any one help me out with this is it crap.!

Growell seem to recommend the grolux and have the cheek to charge an extra few quid for it......not nearly as good as the sontplus but I've never tried the nav-t..............
pd666
i use a nav-t plus and work a treat 600w hps loads o lums and heavy yields

For flowering the best of all is a 60/40% mix of HPS and MH.

j.a.s, the growlux should be fine mate. It just has added "blue" in the spectrum, which make's it "ideal" for both the vegative, and flowering stage's. Although it's not quite what they say it is. What people are trying to say is, the nav-t+ and son-t+, are better bulb's for flowering, than the growlux, bearing in mind the growlux, is more expensive! wink.gif

Certain shops have been known to push the growlux, for higher profit margins, when in fact, it's not quite as good for the flowering stage as either of the other two. I have done 3 grows with a 600w growlux, and noticed no significant difference in growth/yield to a phillips son-t+.

It was designed has an "all-round" type of bulb, so you compromise on the flowering spectrum, in order to bump up the growth spectrum. It's not the best bulb for either vegging or flowering.

IMO, you'll be fine with the growlux, you have it, so use it.

Please let me know if i'm talking bollox???

Wouldn't think there'd be too much difference mate!

The Metal Halide will give you much stronger vegative growth, better than any sodium will. wink.gif

ok il go for a M.H bulb and use the sylvania for flowering

thank's for the help vrg

have you allways used the growlux in all your grow's
iv seen your bud pic's and id be well happy with bud's like that
pd666
useing a metal halide during folowering in the rioght quantitys alongside hps will give you more potent buds while the hps will give u larger buds

like i say i use a 600w plus 400w m/h for flowering and the smoke is nice and yield is good but yield can be affected by eviroment also so u can have good lights and be shit at growing and end up with poor buds wink.gif
Vincent Vega
first proper grow so i proply will have crap bud's dont think the environment is to bad now the temp is around 80-85F with the new 600w light but going to get my 6" RVK fan on friday so that shoud help out a bit with temp and the R.H is around 45% is that good or bad ..?

o and just knocked holle's in the bord's under the gutering for the ducting and ventilation that should help the temp as well..
pd666
sounds bout right if u keep temps between 24-28c yall be fine higher temps will cause all sorts o probs stunted growth 600w is a good light tho wink.gif
