My oldest plant (a FDM 50/50) is nearing finish, and I was just wondering if it's possible to identify what the dominant strain is just from the smell... Sounds daft, but the 50/50 mix are random hybrids of (I seem to recall) 3 or 4 strains, and my plant has a very distinctive smell. It didn't smell of anything until this week (about week 5 or 6 of 12/12), then is suddenly started to smell reall strongly of, wait for it.... pepper - freshly ground black pepper (honest) Is there any strain in the 50/50 mix that has a peppery smell, or have I just got a wierd one. It's not important, I don't care - I'm chuffed just to be a month or so away from my own herb, but it would be an added bonus if I knew what I should expect. I think 50/50 mix is a cool way of growing herb - it's kindal like lucky dip, except the anticipation lasts months, not seconds
