Cheers for the welcome ,just back from buying a 400 watt got the silver wing reflectors as well cost me £190 ,but hey i got free magazines Hope this is all going to be worth it .....thats totaling £370 so far for the growing gear , may hope i get a good yield or ill be bankrupt ,do tomatoes sell well this time of the year

Tomatoes will be fine. I've actually got some Sweet Basil in with my plants at the mo. It does bugger all to mask the smell, but I'm looking forward to a nice salad. Mmmmmm.

Sorry about the non explanation there on normal . what i actually meant was , a 125 metal h lamp . when i said normal i was meaning the soil and so on , i grew them in a cupboard for fun , and ended up with 2 ounces of good gear , i also grew outdoors ,but never managed a female . all manly figures

Being grown under 250watt high press sodium plus couple of coral growing 40 watt flouros, planted in john innes 2, worried about acidity and all that. Basically everyone has different advice on everything, Im a pretty good general gardener. HELP I dont want it all to screw up at this stage, any advice humbly accepted and gratefully recieved.

if you're growing in John Innes, forget all about ph and ec - they're hydro preoccupations - the compost should happily naturally buffer itself with virtually all uk water. You can grow to completion in JI2, but you'll be short of nutes, so I'd go for a bottle each of Biobizz grow and bloom, and feed according to the schedule - apart from that all you'll need is a bit of epsom salts 2 or 3 times
As to sexing - welcome to the club! - nobody finds it easy first time - use the FAQs for help - next grow, get a mother going, then use clones, it'll cut times between crops, and you'll know they're all females
It really is that simple - honest!

Know it is the wrong place to post this , but my first grow is out the window alreadt , 2 skunk and 2 belladonna seeds ffs , need to read more about hydroponics i believe , we bought proigator and rockwwol for the germnation periods and beyond , but as my little babies started to poke though ,well lets say they got to an inch and when i got back after a while they had been completely fried , the water in the prop had tuned to steam and my wee babies got a sauna ,, my m8 put the 400 watt sodium to close and with the lid on the box they got steamed ........would i be better starting the plants with my 125 watt unti reasonable size the use the 400 , also ventalation was very poor in room ,so say that had alot to do with it ..installing fan system at the weekend , i will post this in new thread and start a diary ,if thats ok cheers lads ,,ps i have been reading the forums and the site for the last 3 days and lads your all great ,,PLEASE HELP ME RID MY LUNGS OF THIS SOAP BAR //NOW UP TO 3 quarters a week .......You can here my lungs from where you r standing .......

nice one Vlad thanks for quick response, the last few days has shown quite achange under the sodium, I think I may have cracked it on a couple of them. at wot point is it too late to sparate them get back to you later, much work to do.
