right ummm Grow Room deisgn time

it going to be about the size of a wardrobe as it will sit next to my current one,
just a bit deeper and not as tall with obvious modifications

i want to house the ballast and electrics above the grow room so i cant spill on them while watering so a compartment on top is my idea ill draw up some pics asap
but its what to build it with thats my problem (also cash permitting)
-a full solid Grow Box with top shelf prolly MDF (shush naysayers ill sue B&Q another time)
-a frame from 2x2 with Black/White surrounding and velcro door (top shelf possible? cannatronics ballast is huge n heavy also stuctually safe as ill be hanging a light from it, then fire issues)
-a frame from 2x2 with plywood/hardboard? surrounding maybe a thicker wood on the sides to support the shelf? (light leaks? structually safe? good idea? hehehe)

bloody 'ell had soo much to do today ive just been pondering my Grow :S

bit too pricey with my budget at them moment
ill keep em in mind for when i move to the loft in a grow or 2

theres big 8x4 sheets of chip bord in B&Q for £3.50 a sheet good bords to ..this is what i done mine with and just panted mat white and i got them to cut it to size for me to (first 4 cuts free and then 50p a cut after that) all in i spent about 70 quid on grow room by its self / paint B&Q's mat paint /tape B&Q's gaffer tape / B&Q's roller and tray / nales / garage hooks / min/max thermometer / 5# 8x4 sheats of wood all cut 2 times .......
i was loveing it when i was tole the price....

errrr....... that was weird a friend just come round while typing this and told me he can get me the wood i need for free ^^ so thats sorted now just wait n see what i can make wit the wood he sorts out


yea im gonna get some rough measurements (want it to fit in the corner between my wardobe) but im thinkin of keeping it for a mum when i get the loft sorted (eventually)

gonna also draw up a proper design, measurements pending
will be better than my doodle i drew the other day hopefully

by the sounds of it you already have 3 solid sides covered ther.

the existing wardrobe - back wall - side wall

if this is the case, you have plenty of things to put a couple of right angle shelf brackets onto to make a solid roof for a growroom.

then all you have to do is mayke your door and line with plastic.

UB has got some great ideas there tho m8, i can't see you having too much trouble.

you can use virtually anything tho, my new scrogbox is the cardboard box that my stereo came in, turned upright.

i want it enclosed so its portable, altho i did think to myself that i could just
whip a plank of wood so high ---¬ and do it that way but i want summat thats
still hidden and not an eyesore ^^

grows when a couple friends grow too, least ill have loads of tips for them ^^

right had a quick measure ive got 100cm x 55cm x 180cm (W x D x H) to play with
will i need it this tall? width n depth i dont want to change as itll fit nicely cant go higher
because of a speaker/bracket. this height also include the space for the top shelf to
house the massive Cannatronics ballast so thats 20 cm gone there

o well gonna have summat to eat and draw up some designs, unless i get too stoned

doesnt help that i broke my hand last night

what bout the old fence you mentioned b4?

right i cant get the wood home from Homebase on my own tbh now (as i doubt the guy is getting me the wood, as i keep telling myself )

so for now untill i can arrange something i whacked some mdf i had to make a box that i could hang my HPS in finally it'll put me on till ive arranged transport

ill take some pics in a few mins not much to look at and yea yea i knows about mdf nasties....

given my temp. grow box a coat of matt white

got a nice energy saver that looks like a mini Enviro for the seedlings,
so i dont burn them out in the sun

having trouble with all these bloody plugs needed my bedroom electrics are bodged as it is
then i couldnt use just one multi adapter cos the timers wouldnt fooking fit

cant sleep tbh i swear ive just been watching another sprout out to the surface might have had something to do with this Jack Herer
& am thinking ( ) is one energysaver cf okay for this many seedlings

forgot to mention i put another cf bulb in there to help the seedlings along
just whipped an energy saver into an old clip-on desk lamp as a temporary solution until i sort out some wiring for the cf lights and buy new blub socket thingys

getting a lift to get the wood from Homebase is getting to be a pain the the arse
guess im glad this temp Grow box is quite large tbh
