could someone please tell me a bit about seeds.

i had a gd plant which threw off a couple off seeds well ithought i am gonna plant a couple to see what happens.

so anyway i have 2 on the go and they are a lot different to the orginals a lot more yellow and thinner leaves.

so has the genetics of the plants total reinvented itself within the pot from which they themselves came from(g13-c99-nl)

so if this is right my gds could be more like a purer c-99, which then suggests to me that the c-99 is the stronger genetic plant (like redheads dying out).

if you have planted a seed from a hermie plant then the seed wil be hermie too as the hermie traits will be carried down from the mother plant unless a males pollen is the cuase of the seeds ansd not a hermied plant crossing is hit or miss if ur doing it properly it takes hundreds of selection and male selection is the key thing too takes grows yupon grows to make a true breeding strain

like i have a afghani/nl/bb/b52 cross this isnt a true breeding strain it was mroe of an exsperimentation the results will be random if ya know wot i mean im proberbly speaking pish

weidted to put in this link its quite good weed botany

Hiya dave, I don't know how much depth of information you were wanting but if you've got a few hours to kill and want to learn a bit about breeding, and plant genetics in general, this is an excellent set of articles.

As a briefer answer to your question, the plant's genetics won't have been 'reinvented', but the range of possible genetic combinations from any given pair of plants is huge, and in the majority of cases the seeds from them will produce a range of phenotypes in the offspring. Even if the seeds were from a hermie plant, so that it was both mother and father, you would still see variation in the offspring - they're not genetically identical to the parent as clones are.

Finally, as PD pointed out, if the seeds are from a hermie plant, they'll be inclined to turn hermie themselves, so you'll have to keep a very close eye on them.
