Barbed wire?
I know that you can put rabbits off by sprinkling powdered mothballs around the plants, because the smell sickens them. Worth a try maybe.
Alternative....BBQ anyone ?

rab d niro claims the 'one shot' method, is only true method in deerhunter, but big cat poo, from zoo or safari park is suppose to work.

pee around the perimiter of your garden area m8, human urine should scare them well away.

I don't think there is much you can do, I have friends with a big garden backing onto the mendips. The deer will graze on cannabis at any state of growth although their fav seemed to be roses.
Nothing works apart from letting the dogs out, who then spend hrs chasing them before they come back. It does not stop the deer, in a day or two they come back they even drink out of the dogs bowl.
They have tried hanging cd's, soap, tiger and lion shit, scent off buds, glitter bangs, ultra sonic sounder. So if the deer live near humans they get semi tame and just get used to anything you do.
Even the dogs cause probs because if they surprise the deer they panic and leap all over the garden, the worse was a deer going into the greenhouse with both the dogs in hot pursuit, the dam thing jumped right through the back wall of the green house smashing all the glass and bending a couple of glazing bars and disappearing over a 6 ft + hedge. Thing is, 4:30 in the morning a day or two later the deer were back in the garden.

There a pretty cool little toy
Here that fires 1,000,000 (yep, thats a MILLION) rounds per minute.
I reckon that'll sort the deer out
Seriously though, I'd just put up a big wire fence up.

If u can afford it a leccy fence, used by farmers to keep sheep etc fenced, will keep them off almost totally, need to maintain the fence and ensure that the wires are at different heights, especially low for MUNTJACK.(not as expensive as u may think) used human hair from hairdresser for small plantations of trees , it works but need to be changed often, place it in carrot sacks and hang about the area, other than that a fence at least 1.5m tall will be needed, muntjack are small and dont jump as high as other species.

Give him a PM, he'll be happy to hear from you and can give you advice on packaging them (they're legal to own and post but many have come to an unfortunate end somewhere inside Royal Mail).

Those tube shaped tree guards you often see on new plantations are good for keeping young plants safe from deer and the like , if you plant within an existing plantation they won't look out of place either , they even act like mini greenhouses so the plant should also get a good start dunno if they may get a bit leggy tho . Once the plants get too big for the tubes you may encounter problems but at least they'll get a reasonable start .
I'm planning an outdoor grow this year and that's what I'll be trying , I've got the perfect spot in a large wood where no-one ever goes ( been casing it out for the last year or so ) but it does have rather a large deer population .
My only problem is deciding which varieties to try , I have chronic, bubblegum , shiva skunk , skunk#11 and super haze seeds , I dunno if any of these varieties would be suitable or whether to invest in some new beans , any advice on this subject would be greatfully recieved ( this will be my first attempt at an outdoor grow) .
