how do you work out the suction reduction? am i crazy, do you have to do this? i know too much ducting can reduce suction significantly. if my fan is 3x more powerful than it needs to be (6'' lti-small space) will i get away with just this and a desk fan and no inlet?(i cant afford that as well) its not a sealed space so im thinking that the suction out will just pull more air from outside in.

i have also ordered some toughened glass for my lamp. i am assuming i need to cover the bottom with glass, but as it is open ended, attach the end furthest from the bulb holder with the ducting and seal it up, then it will suck past the holder, and bulb and cool things down abit?

cheers for any thoughts people. the light is a mini-wing,(a right shitter)

thanks dude, interesting about the winburn, my fan is pretty dirty and old and has seemed to mess up the buds right by it. im not sure whether this is windburn or just shit from the fan getting powered onto the buds. this will hopefully all be sorted come tommorow with the beast fan.

does this model have a speed controller built on? i couldnt see a separate controller unit so i am assuming it does?

i put a post in the diy section about making carbon filters with burnt toast. am going to give this a try instead of the £100+ jobby for our fan.

do you know about the suction reduction? how much ducting do you have and do you notice any reduction?

thanks again for your time mate

hi there

like the idea of closing up a silverwing, basically your building a cool wing type reflector. sounds a little too much messing about for me. In my current grow i have pitched my adjusta wings at a slight angle with an exhaust using four inch ducting attached to the elevated side. Not sure on how much this will lower temps let you know when the clones get roots.

its mostly bends in the ducting that knock the air speed about. that and badly hung flexable ducting. give the air as straght and smooth a run as possable. also mount the fan as close to the filter as you can to cut down on the vacume effect.

LTI fans are single speed fans and aint ment to have speed controls fitted. although you can slow them down it does shorten the life of the fan. make sure the speed control hard starts the fan if used with a timer.

good luck with the toast.
