Scott Blakey aka Shantibaba

MrNice Seedbank founder & breeder Scott Blakey, aka Shantibaba, has been sentenced to four years imprisonment by a court in Lugano, Switzerland. He was convicted of bringing cannabis genetics into Switzerland that could be used to further the production of an illegal drug!

With a Masters in Biology and a love of cannabis, Scott's track record is world class. He established his reputation working for the Sensi Seed Bank, where he developed Northern Lights # 5 x Haze and Big Bud, multi award winning varieties of cannabis and two of the best known strains available.

Scott then moved on to co-found the Greenhouse Seed Company, where he developed the 'White' line: White Widow, White Rhino, White Shark, etc.

In 1999 Scott and Howard Marks teamed up and started the Mr Nice Seedbank in Switzerland.

Scott's company, Gene Bank Technology, had a $2m contract with the Body Shop to supply cannabis essential oil for their hemp cosmetics and also produced a top brand of hemp beer.

Scott was also very much involved in developing the medicinal uses of cannabis. One director of GBT was a respected Swiss doctor. Scott had supplied him with tinctures free of charge, which he had been using with patients with MS, glaucoma and severe pain. The judge at the trial asked the doctor why he was involved with a company producing an illegal drug. His reply was that as there had been 75 shops selling marijuana openly for several years and the mayor of Bellinzona had been renting out his own land to Scott for the cultivation and growing of marijuana crops, how could it be illegal? The judge replied that the court was not concerned with changing laws but enforcing them!

This is a tragedy not only for Scott but also for his wife and young daughter. It is also an indictment of the senseless war on the cannabis plant.

The future of the MrNice Seedbank has been hanging in the balance pending this case. Now we have the unfortunate outcome we know we will be unable to replenish our stocks of MrNice seeds for sometime.

its a disgrace, smoke this nictotene make us rich and u will die from cancer and then make on hemp/cannabis is evil.

why pay billions to educate us and then treat us like fools.

and the judge sucks he is there to judge so u could say he has the right to say in my judgement i think that i cannot enforce this law while ciggerettes are legal or lets go back 200 hundred years ,weed was not ilegal so the judge would have said oh u havent broken any law on u go, so somewhere along the lines the law has been changed.

so the judge is a 1 minded moron who should have the balls to listen to all facts off the case and make his own mind up and be prepared to stand up and say i cant enforce this law.


ps breach of the peace, if the police kicked my door in at 6am in the morning would i be able to charge police with breach of the peace as i have 2 children who have not broken the law. would u fuck why because they only use the law to suit them.

Lets hope he's allowed to appeal & this ridiculous sentence is quashed!

What TF? Bad news indeed. Shanti is a helluva nice fella; when I first started growing indoors I corresponded with him a coupla times via "another site", and he gave me some really great advice and encouragement......
