hi guys just finished repotting and watering in my babies
i found a smaller pink pot for plant number 7 ( might spur it to be a lady

)
plant 8 an even smaller black pot same depth but wider because it is round
plant 9 got desperate and cut hole in bottom of pot and planted into another pot to almost double the hieght ( i read the idea on here somewhere a big THANKYOU to that person)
plant 10 the same but found another of pot 8 and used that for the bottom pot instead if i have enough allmix i ve only just thought of how to pot this last one but bags nearly empty
how long does allmix keep
it seems pointless ordering a big bag for a little bit but the rest of the plants could probably do with a top up as well would it last 2 -3 months or could i get say a years worth of allmix , bio grow and bloom if kept correctly?
will post pics when i put plants back in growroom shortly
just tested the temps and 25.9 at moment with 400 hps son t
i plan to flower within 2 week if they fill pots again as quickly ( 7 days the last ones lasted)
might try and flower 7- 10 first and then the rest 2 week later to get two harvests but it means i will have to keep moving plants 7-10 for dark period for 2 weeks in between and then plant more seeds to put in veg room im going to put enviro from veg room into main room until then for maximum light
i better get building that contactor thats posted and make sure room has complete blackout for flowering
i cant believe ive been worried about feeding and i wont even need to do the first feed until the flowering period has started
thanks

hi guys
i thought id update on my grow
i am now about 2 weeks into flowering and have got rid of 5 males leaving me with 5 beautiful ladies
no sign of any buds yet but theyll come eventually (i hope)
they have all just been watered and are all in 5ltr pots although i am debating whether or not to repot again into 7 or 10ltr pots because there is quite a lot of floor space available where roots could be growing
its amazing how many times you change your mind during this growing-- last week i was convinced i had found a male and took it out of the GR when i woke up in the morning id convinced myself it could be a lady and put it back in ( it turned out male)
heres a pic of my smallest one which measures 14inches high where as my others are all 22inches high does this mean this is a more indica strain than the other 4 and can anyone hazard a guess to which strain of the fdm 50/50 it is
thanks

no probs mate i think it depends on how your growing
1 huge thing for scrog
loads of little ones for sog
and if normal i think its as big as you can fit in
i dont think there is an exact size but the more roots the more bud you get but then you are vegging for longer to fill the pot with roots if that makes sense
i am just starting my learning though so hopefully someone with more expertise can correct me if im wrong
also i think there is a thread in the Q&A section
i have used
paper towel-- 2 inch pots --- 4inch pots--- 5ltr pots
and will probably upgrade again to 7ltr pots or something now i have got rid of males and have more floor space
if you upgrade a few times the roots grow a better structure than just using the 1 pot size from the start
hope this helps

wilkinsons are really cheap for small square pots 80p for 10 pots or something like that
my 5ltr pots are round tomato pots from B&Q and are 7inches high and 9 inch across- if that helps

no mate
i think ive seen something on here but it breaks my heart to read about strains i cant afford at the moment especially with both my growrooms filled up for next 8 weeks
as regards to how many plants what size room have you got again
my built in tray is roughly 2ft by 2ft but the room is slightly bigger (30inch x 28 or something like that) and is 6ft tall
at the moment the 5 in there are looking like theyve got loads of room but the ten was to much but i think someone said with sog you can have 4 per sq foot so that would be 16
but if your thinking of 2 plants make it 4 instead it would be a shame to wait 6 weeks and have 2 males i think that would piss me right off at least with 4 plants you should get at least one female out of them
personally seed wise id go for FDM 50/50 loads of variety and £15 for 20 seeds ive had all 20 germ for me

all i can say is they have been really easy to grow so far
i posted something up about them in the seed strains forum
and joolz put on one of my posts that they are up there with the top named seeds i had on my wishlist such as ak47 and kalimist
if your worried about security of ordering seeds pm joolz and send cash recorded delivery youll probably have them by wednesday
by the way i had kalamist in the greenhouse in dam about 18month back but it was called super kalamist does anyone know if it is the same thing it was the first thing i smoked there and the four of us had the giggles like mad after a joint each it was amazing -- just curious

zolmes if i were you i would start in
2inch or 3 inch pots then go to
4 or 5 inch pots and finish them in
10 inch (Sqare pots if poss)
this way you could flower 4 plants in your space so you could start 7 or 8 plants and throw the males out before putting in final pots --if you get more than 4 females throw the runt away

Cheers nice update TT! I hope my grow goes as well as yours seems to be going (only a few hiccups...) I hadnt actually thought about which pots I was going to use. Probably time I took that into consideration. Cheers!
These grow reports are real interesting. I cant get enough of them!

Zolmes Ive just got some Top 44 (hopefully) starting. I bought them a few years ago tho. The catalogue said that they were a good easy to grow commercial variety. So Im not expecting them to be the most mind blowing ever, but hopefully they'll be a good learning breed.

thats where i went wrong ppp
buying wrong pots for my size GR ( i think it is a typical newbie error)
makes it more difficult if you use different size pots at the same time like i had to ( see earlier in the thread)- different watering days etc - now there all in the same size i water them together and each gets the same nutes and water etc
its a lot easier now
bloody addictive these grows arent they

im scared there going to freeze to death
any advice
could i use a calor gas fire in bedroom or would the toxic stuff harm the plants- im skint this week so cant buy anything yet -- bloody radiator

well 4 of my plants have reached the 2ft mark with my 5th being a lot stockier but only 17in tall- it works out 2-3 inch per plant in 2 days
its been another cold day in my room 11.4 at one point - i feel a lot better when lights are on -ive got to get it sorted but they are still growing at moment
6 of my seeds are showing through soil now
getting a bit worried about other four all ten seeds have been watered tonight though so hopefully
still no signs of buds , i think there starting to form but being new might be imagining it- thinking of increasing doses of bloom using 1ml grow 2ml bloom at moment per litre but could be coldness stopping the bud
will post pics tomorrow night ( hopefully of my first ever bud)
sorry if this is stupid Q but is it the roots or leaves that need to be kept warmer , i was thinking of buying some of that hessian blanket stuff to cover the pots with- until i fix radiator
does any one think it will benefit them

Hiya mate, not too sure about the temps, but that does sound pretty cold. Is that with lights off?
Just a thought, but if you have some space in your room - maybe under the plants - you could put some heat storing material, bricks and the like, in. These warm up during light time and release the heat during night time. Dont know how much difference it might make, but thats how storage heaters work and it could be a cheap fix. Any experts care to comment?

hi mate
there staying at 15 today for some reason but yes it is with lights off
ive got no room under my plants there on cap matting but i have room between the pots so would i just use normal bricks or are they special things ( breeze blocks or something)
thanks for the idea

very roughly, your growing temps should be within the 55-90 degrees (F) range- ideally pretty constant at about 75 - the more the temperatures differ on/off, the more they tend to stretch. If you're somewhere within those limits, they'll carry on growing -too high or low it slows, and eventually stops
TOKIN TARQUIN
Apr 7 2004, 04:00 PM
thanks vlad
its at 15 or 59 at the moment
it will be better when i can get radiator working in bedroom
usually with light on it is around 24- 25
im just glad my lights off period is in the day otherwise it would be sub zero in there at night
also vlad do you think hessian blankets or the bricks idea would work as temporary solution- because it went down to 11 deg yesterday
with my set up i never considered low temps would be a problem i thought it would be the other extreme thats why i brought a bigger extraction fan- although im still to cover outside of GR with plasterboard and wallpaper so im hoping that will help keep the heat in more
any advice anyone
will be posting pics at 10.30 when my lights come on if anyones is interested
Vlad (the impala)
Apr 7 2004, 04:18 PM
-what I'd do is stand them on something like inch thick polystyrene, you could certainly "lag" the pots too - then when you water, use it slightly warmed - bung a dash of hot into it - just warm is fine!
TOKIN TARQUIN

bad news on the seedling front
i knocked up the allmix with perlite and filled the 10 pots with it
i then planted 6 seeds that had shown there root but left the other 4 pots with dry mix in
the next day i then planted the other 4 with the old mixture but when ive checked today all 4 had compacted and killed the seeds
so i now just have the 6- which are going strong
there goes my 100% germ rate
think il have to get some seeds on order - a quick Q- if i am growing the fdm 50/50 is there any point trying out any from the rest of the fdm range or are they all in the mix anyway
thanks

Hi TT
it sounds like u know the same placethat i know in my local shot down town they split dutch passion/sensi/home grown fanta/th seeds/MG/serious seeds but i dont think its worth it as ive bought single seeds before out of 4 i got 1 female so i dont know

some people get unlucky ( usually me)
the shop im refering to is doctor hermans it was opened by howard marks ( apparently) in manchester town centre
i think it used to be called hippy hermans
having said that for all the varieties i want to grow it would cost me a grand in seeds buying them in full packs- just to use 2or 3 seeds out of each variety- it would work out cheaper to keep using dealers
