hey guys, how you doing?

i need some advise here...
ive found this perfect 'abandoned' field to grow loads of erb in....
but the only problem is that the soil, is clay..
what chemical can i use to break it down ?

im based in south africa...so the weather is not a problem..
only one is the soil...ive scattered about a hundred seeds around
but nothings come up?! cry.gif

help would be much abiliged

I don't know of any chemicals but I know some people who break up the clay themselves before they start growing and add better soil with minerals and such. And you should first germinate your seeds instead of just scatter then on the ground. Germ. them then plant them outside about 2-3 cm deep into the ground after their taproots have appeared.

If i was doing it, i'd dig a hole about a cubic foot big and fill it with cheap compost so the plant can get established before it has to start penetrating clay.

Best to dig a few larger than pots size fill with new soil (compost) M8.
