Hi, i have just been trying to set up my inline fan and filter. i am unsure what way the filter goes on.

Does it go on the sucking end, i.e so that air is sucked through it by the fan
or does it go on the blow end so that air is blown through it after its been through the fan

thanks very much. i have new seedlings but they are still very small. as soon as i can get the fan installed, i can start using the 600w HPS lamp i have as i think heat may be a problem otherwise.
the little darlings are just in the rockwool plug but have been put into the rockwood cube as roots have just appeared through the plug!

cheers in advance guys!

ok thanks for that......i will need to get some kind of support for it to hang!

it can be done either way, but is more effective drawing air through,,

I used a few light mounting plates and chain round the filter, job done and cheap as chips!.

I have my grow room set up now..have it in a large waredrobe in my spare bedroom. i have two shelves and have the fan and the ballast sat on that. i then hang the light from garden wire wrapped round.; there is a hole cut for the ducting which goes into the lower chamber and is wrapped tightly round the carbon filter and the deviding shelve. the ventilation system looks like an 'S' shape. the hot air is then taken by ducting to the window. no smells yet as the plants are still small. i have just turned on the 600W HPS and ran it over night and it works well with the fan and filter and keeps the temperature down.

i keep meaning to get some pics up and will do so shortly as this is my first time grow. the system i have installed is a perfect small growroom.
the plants havent grown roots through the rockwool block so they arnt in the hydro system yet as i am told this rots the roots!
