Just need a bit of advice really.

My ladies have just entered the start of the 7th week. And my thoughts are turning to flushing them - so they taste nice, and burn smoothly, and there are no more chemicals.

My question is :

How manys days should I flush for? I was planning a week, but would that be too long?

Sorry for the question, but I have not been able to find the info in the forum.

Thanks in advance.

here you go mate - I think a week is far too long. I usually cut down then down to water for a couple of days - why waste growing time, in hydro flushing is quick - just push lots of water through

Different strokes for different folks. I've been trying Owd's method in coco, but not harvested it yet, so no idea.

Ordinarily I start a flush around day 50, or when pistil death is underway for 2 weeks until the chop. For plants I know how long they go for (e.g. cuts) I give 2 weeks flush, 1st week plain un-pH water, 2nd week molasses un-pH water for the first half of the week, then starved so that they are getting dry for 48 hours dark, and then the chop.

For my SSSDH cut, the breeder told me he uses a 3 week flush, so my 2 SSSDH plants have been getting 3 week plain un-pH water flushes and they have tasted stunning (but it's an 11 week cut).

No mate - some people revert back to Veg nutes prior to cutting nutes out all together

GN - you should get one up about that - more info about the molasses in the last week? is that in COCO?

Cheers

Yup, always in coco for me...nothing else.

Loads of people put molasses in their final flush to give their buds a sweeter finish/edge to them. It doesn't change the flavour per se, but it gives a sugary sweet aftertaste which doesn't affect the bud taste. I don't do it with all plants...e.g. SSSDH....but others, like the Blue Cheese, it really really suits.

Thanks everyone for your replies. yahoo.gif

I am very grateful to you all.

After careful consideration, I think I will be be flushing with just plain water from day 50. This way they will of had a good clean out if they are done in the stated 56 - 63 days.

Good Question

Was planning on using Owderbs flush idea aswell..

Ive gone thro this grow without a runoff..should I start a flush earlier because of no runoff?

I'm using owds flushing method this time round, the yeild is much bigger and the first smoke reports are looking very promising!

I reduced the amount of A+B to 2ml/ltr from wk5, the leaves are starting to change colour slightly now they are just into the 7th week. Would it be better to leave the flush until the latter stages as this has already begun? The pistils are already starting to change colour.

Thanks guys for the replies guitar.gif
