im preparing for next year and hopefully my first successful grow yahoo.gif

and it occured to me i need to sort out somewhere to dry before hand
otherwise come next october im gonna be stuck

i read that you can use activated carbon to 'clean the air'
of the drying room?
has anybody tryed this before? if so does it get rid of the smell 100%?

the space i have to dry is only small 3ft wide 2ft deep and 9 ft tall
and is only going to be used once so i just want something temp

any other ideas would be appreciated too biggrin.gif

Buy a fan n filter, about £100 will get you a 4" setup which is plenty for drying, you actually could slow it down quite a bit.

get yourself a cf & fan and run low setting, no smell, no hassle! cool.gif

beat me too it 181.

wouldnt it be better to invest in a cf and fan to extract through??

Flower & dry in same room!

oops sorry guirella grow! smell is always worst at harvest, if you value your liberty, its the best investment besides your lamp you will make!

Any decent amount of weed will really stink mate when drying out. I go with the rest of the folks and say cf and fan.

Definitely get a fan and filter mate. You will be able to get a way with a tiny one if you are drying in a room that small.

You only have to look in the cannabis news section to see how many people get busted because of smell. You will probably be able to get a small fan and filter for £80 if you shop around. Just get a budget one. Aslong as you grow a half oz then it will have paid for itself in theory smile.gif

That's how I always work it out anyway. I spent about £300 setting up my grow room so as soon as I've grown 2.5oz that will have already saved me over £300 that I would have had to spend on dealer weed. The rest is just free from then on smile.gif (Minus leccy and seeds)

If you got a nice mate or another address not linked to you, fleebay have fan+filter setups used for like 30 quid friend.

always use a filter and take all other precautions !

You could make a drying box, i made one from a TV box, added a couple of small carbon filters from a paint sprayes mask and a small extraction fan sucking thru and blowing out thru homemad ecarbon filters, because its kept in the garage, i added a "airer" with a 40w bulb on a timer 15mins on 15mins off, to lower the RH from around mid 60s to 30 ish, worked great without a trace of weed smell in the garage.

Putting carbon in the same room won't do much. The air has to go over it. Like touch it to clean it. I was reading about it the other day. About the surface area needed and how the air must flow over the carbon to get cleaned. Quite interesting.

You could try the pro GG trick and dry it where you grew it. Hang it in trees. I've seen people do it at ground level which is OK in secluded places but if the area is prone to the odd rambler or two, I think it would be better to tie your crop to some rope. Climb a tree and pull your plants above eye level and hang them 10-20ft up. Completely free. lol.gif Actually, I forgot we live in Britain, maybe you could create a roof for them out of some plastic sheeting lol.gif
