Hi guy's had a quick glimpse at some threads couldn't find one on wiring these buggers up from scratch pinch.gif cry.gif .Rite I know about live, and Neutral but does it need an earth? If so where would I put it???.Ok I have a spare REFLECTOR IF NEED BE, BUT ITS NOT FOR CFL, Manley HPS, and HPI the CFL bulb is massive it still fits but only just. Also once I have wired it up I will want to probably plug it into my relay/contactor will it be ok running from that as well as just using a normal socket, (will swap about eventually) so where will the earth go if I have just the plug and no reflector?, the earth usually connects to the reflector it's self spliff.gif do I need an Earth or what?, or can it just be run off (N) and (L) :bulb:
ntb
if its 125 CFL its most likely to have a built in ballast,
so you can wire it up like a three pin plug and away you go...

Omg, ok so where will the earth go on the fitting for CFL ? not the plug earth the reflector earth, Im running without reflector ? cry.gif which ppl do ?.

Yeah put a plug on it. are you using it for flowering?

hopefully not, anyway if it is just for vegging put a plug on it and leave it on 24/7 you dont need a timer or contactor then

no where put a bit of tape round the end of the earth cable

So does it need an eath or not? If so theres no where for the earth to go without reflector and they can be run without?. And yeah its gonna be for veg, although I have though about adding it as a side light which is also a good idea?

no it doesnt if your not using a reflector. as there is nothing to conduct electricity as no metal surface is exposed.

pointless using them in flowering, thet dont give out enough light, and if you did add it too say a 400w hps. you wouldnt even notice a differance the bright light from the 400w would out power it.

Yeah Thanks buddy rofl.gif rofl.gif wink.gif Just da LIVE and NEUTRAL cheers old pal wink.gif Ps will put tape on Earth bit many thanks.
nu jerzey devil
no probs. do tape it up or cut it so that it is level with the cable sheat(insulation) atleast. this will stop any mishaps

The LIVE goes to the central contact, and the NEUTRAL goes to the outside screw fitting - the EARTH goes to a metal reflector (only if you're using one). thumbsup.gif

żOR IS IT? ph34r.gif
