Full Version: Cleaning Nft After Each Grow-

i have an nft set up- brilliant results first time and not so good this time, actually crap but i think its due to not cleaning and not veging for long enough- i know there must be threads on how to clean an nft set up but i cant fimd them- due to being an idiot probably - thre could be hundreds of threads but i aint found one- if some one could post some links or tell me how to clean it id be much obliged?!

my nft is home made for local plumbing suplys and i can take the top off so i can clean easily but but do i do? hot soapy water and brush? add bleach to res and let it run for a few days ? or both?

if someone could either tell me or post some links that would be cool-

regards from grow novice- all my knowledge comes from this site! so thanks to everyone who has posted- really love some of you guys diary's- i wont mention names as dont want to give you guys big heads but all the good diary's are brilliant for a novice-
i dumped the dealer for a while but had to go back- ill dump him again but will probably be back!!!

I just use Miltons as directed on the back of the bottle, run it through the system and pumps, then after its sterilised rinse it through with water. Wash any pots and trays in some more miltons, a bit of elbow grease here and there, job done. I also disinfect the whole GR with a hozelock sprayer half filled with boiling water and disinfectant, spray the walls and floor, wipe it down with a clean cloth, (use bin bags to wrap up your electrics before spraying), run the fans to dry it all out.
