hi just set up my aeroponic unheated propagator taken a couple of cutts and have placed them in rockwool cubes my question is how long do you have to keep the sprayer system on for 24/7?

also i have it under a 300w cfl in a tent but it does not seem to be misting up will this be suitable or does it need to be somewhere hotter for it to mist?

lol.gif also how much light should you give ?
C'est la vie
mate, you dont put cuts in rockwool when you use an aeroponic propagator.... pinch.gif

You use either the clone collars or clay pebbles, if you use rockwool then the cuts will rot as they dont have roots and the ol will get saturated with solution!

surely it can be done both ways i have the plastic inserts for it to be done the other way

You can use rockwool mate.

Have them on 5 minutes every hour. Watch they dont dry out too much, keep your eye on them.

Use small polythene bags over the clones for 4-5 days.

Thanks stealth also the lid on the prop dosent fit snug around the bottom so theres a couple of small gaps does this need to be air tight for the cutts? any help would be great

If you use the poly bags over each clone it wont matter.

Its better to fill a propogator up with cuttings, then it mists up better.

You say unheated prop, what temp is the water in the tank ?
Stealth67
Keep the water temperature between 75f and 80f.
Higher temps will cause fungus, lower temps will cause stasis, stalled or failed clones.

alright mate great choice of prop you made there man wink.gif I've used rockwool in mine once before i had the sprayer on a timer, be4 they have roots i had it on 15mins ever 3 hours as my timer was in 15min gaps, when roots show leave it on continuasly. I have found that its easier to use the net pots with a collar then when rooted transplant into 3 or 4 inch rockwool cubes. Also get a little heater with thermostat its alot easier than quessing and you know the temps always spot on.

all the best man
