Hi guys/gals,

Not sure where to stick this post as not really a diary...not at this stage at least.

First grow - Started off 5 fem Nirvana Northern Lights & 5 fem Flying Dutchman Skunk No. 1 in mini 3" pots with West+ Multipurpose compost. Reckon my environment was pretty badly controlled...fluctuation in temp & humidity etc. and the seedlings were let dry out too much...after all I read was slightly para about 'overwatering'! Long story short my seedlings are pretty pathetic and have lost about 4/5 of them. Want to bring this lot along (hopefully crop) as much as possible and learn from my mistakes.

Are now about 14 day since first head popped up (not sure when people count from...e.g. 5 days old....5 days from what point?)

Temps now range from 20/28 deg c. Have oil filled rad in room.

Humidity (or lack thereof) is a slight concern - Low 34% RH - High 48% - Goes no higher...tried damp towel, leaving water in room etc. Will try & get humidifer but Argos is outta stock (Another elec appliance in an already croweded space!)

I've attached pics...2 reasonable healthy (IMO) seedlings and 2 fragile ones....reckon if right was right they'd be triple the size but I am where I am. Repotted from mini pots to 1.25 lt yesteday. Used B&Q seedling & cutting compost (thanks BP) with Perlite mixed in. Absolutely no rootball at all when re-potting which is a concern....in pics you can see the difference in soils..

Haven't used any feed so far as think they're too fragile/small.. Have Bio Bizz Grow/Bloom & Top Max waiting in the wings when the time is right.

Just want some general advice or comment please....may have left out info. so please ask any questions not clarified.

Have popped 10 reg. AK48 into cup of water last nite so will try and make a better job of those along with these few stragglers... Gagging for a proper smoke so every lost week is a week longer that I have to wait for that beautifical sweet green goodness....

Good luck mate, the only thing i can say is how important humidity is during the early stages, my first grow had like 30% and took about 7 weeks to vegg to a decent enough (1ft tall) height plant, second time round got a mini pond fogger from maplins, like £15 i think, totaly recomend these to raise humidity.
p.s second time around vegged from only 4 n half weeks and had huge plants (like 21 inches)

Thanks Whittley...might be an alternative to the humidifier...prob the same thing? You live & learn I guess...KDD
