Right i will be chopping my lemon tom, and i have 2 options of where to dry her out, i have been taking temp reading over the last couple days and the 2 cupboards upstairs are about 25oC-26oC and the cupboard downstairs temps measure from 18oC-21oC, now i am guessing the bud will dry way to quick with temps of 25oC+ which is noooo good, but the temp in the cupboard downstairs, 18oC is a bit too low isnt it and i dont want to encourage bud rot, so i got a dilema dry upstairs too quick and have a harsh smoke or dry downstairs and take the risk of bud rot? just after some advice of what u boys do as this will be my first drying and i cant blooming wait! lol.gif lol.gif lol.gif

I would use the hotter room, but have some form of extraction - I tend to use the tent i grow in to dry, that way I control temps and humidity. Can you add an small extractor to the hotter cupboard - if you can you are on to a winner - the extra air movement and extraction will decrease the temp and in turn give you a nice temp to do a nice slow dry in

any form of extraction is not an option, as i have all my other plants in my tent which are 2 weeks in to flower and i have no way of putting extraction into cupboards without the mrs chopping my balls off! lol.gif i was under the idea you wanted as little extraction as possible when drying? So you think i should go for the 25oC drying room instead of the 19-20oC drying room then?
tingting44
any other opinions? im chopping in next couple of hours ^_^ i think ive made my mind up now, im just going with the coolerer cupboard now, temp now is 18.5oC ^_^
bizzaro73
thats cool but ya do need 'some' extraction bro,...dont want the dreaded rot settin in.
tingting44
Dam man i really aint got no options for extraction :-( just the one oscilating fan :-( and RH is 62% at the mo with no buds in there yet :-( i think i am going to run into the dreaded mould god dam it :-(
Doobz
ouch - sounds like your in a slight predicament there dude. I would not dry anywhere in the house with no extraction. The drying smell gets everywhere as you probably know. the only thing you can do is use the higher heat one upstairs and go up to let some fresh air in every few hours.

Personally, If you don't have that many plants then go up into your loft with a big box. Put a small heater in it and let your plants dry in the big box

thanks doobs mate! i am in a predicement :-( i wish all my plants were due at the same time then i could dry in my tent with conditions i could control :-( i think i am going to put in my oil rad in the cool cupboard downstairs now and bring the temp to about 23-24oC to try and keep the dredded RH down :-( i really hope i dont run into the dredded mould, this is my first ever chop i will be doing this afternoon, and it looks lovely, i think i would really cry if mould destroyed my lil baby :-(

is the room youve got your tent nice and dark? i dry mine in the same room my tents are in, just hung from the ceiling (unfortunately they have to deal with half an hour or so of light each day whilst im in there unsure.gif ). if your tent has an extractor and an intake then the air will be being exchanged enough to dry them

i had to part chop my killers a few weeks ago. they dried fine in 7 days inside a cardboard box in my grow room. keep the cardboard box in the coolest part of your tent (probably near the intake) hope this helps spliff.gif

its my 1st harvest as well so i know it can worry you
