I was browsing the forums a little and decided to post because i am a little worried if my plan is going to pull off !

I am about to buy a grow tent Dark room 120

and in wondering a few things !

- Whats supposed to be the intake and outtake for that grow tent as in the sizes if the vents and the power of each ..
-How many plants can I fit in the tent ?
-Any specific Carbon filter ?
-Will i have Heat issues if i don't use a cool tube... just a 12cm fan beside the lamp ?
-Anyone reported any smell issues?

600hps works fine,no need for a cool tube.

No smells as long as you use a filter.

plant amount is down to how you grow them. Personally Ive done 9 or 13 finishing in 6.5 litre pots.

One more question... These extraction fans are wayyy over priced .... is there a cheaper way around?

you could just go and hand yourself in down at your local copshop! Your heading for disaster mate! If you are unable to afford what are essentials pieces of kit, then leave it until you can! The fan, in conjunction with a filter won't only keep smell and temps under control but will also pull fresh air into the tent and allow your plants to breathe! They are pricey because they must be reliable! Consider a far smaller tent and get a smaller extractor.

Try this mob for a lamp, I've got the 7200k and its very close to day light rather than the bluey white that the 4000k kicks out. Either lamp will do ,I've used both and got great results.

Since upgrading to a DR80 and a rhino filter + ruck fan my plants have literally gone into overdrive.

Pure fresh and green... not a spot of trouble.

And the rhino filter is amazing at getting rid of the smell... As a test I found some nasty old perfume and gave the end of the filter a good few sprays.... not even a single whiff out the end of the extract

I should have saved myself the headache in the beginning and just got it but I wouldn't be told

One more question....

Does the intake have to be from outside or can i just use the air in the room ?
Same for the outtake do i need to pump the air out or use the room ... which is roughly speaking about 5 m x 4 m

I pull the air from the room in to my tent witch is in an out house then vent it in my house via a window with a long duct run but i have a high powered 6" fan and rhino filter it keeps temps fine and i can keep it at a low speed with a primair its the best load of kit ive got wouldnt go back to messin with drobes again cant wait to upgrade me veg room

How many m3 of air should be pumped out then ? ... i need this info so i know what ventilation to buy.. for extraction and intake... would the vents be the same power? im thinking a 125mm that EXTRACTS 350m3/h - , should i use the same for intake or a lower power?

your out needs to be bigger than your intake so the tent still has negative pressure
so if you have a 5inch out you need a 4 in

Hi mate, i was the same as you about the rvk fans and rucks, they are overpriced but as everyone says they are essential peices of kit, its best to just bite the bullit and get what you need mate, i messed around for ages trying to boj shit up and couldnt get the enviroment right untill i just got a 6inch big dog!!

i did however do lots of looking into the fan thing and found some cheaper models maybe 20 quid cheaper that are of a very high quality, i would say as good as a ruck/rvk, i have one myself, look on a popular auction site for "rvk alternative" they are vents vk fans, same as rvk but plastic bodied(lighter?) but they are used in industry and very reliable and long lasting.

just for some info i run a 1.2mx1.2mx2m tent with.....

6inch vents vk exraction
5 inch tt fan input (not a ruck type but shifts plenty of cool air in)
600W dual spec in diamond shade(known for heat issues)
then i have a 6inch clip on fan blowing under the bulb and an 8inch desk fan moving air around the plants.
9 plants in 11lt pots.
my temps ar 25-27 lights on and 18-20 off and its going well so far!

this is my first grow tho so im no pro!!!

ive got a dr150 so its a bit bigger than your one, ive packed mine with about as much as i can get in there in terms of light,
i got 3 x 600w hps cooltubed with an 8"rvk, then i have a 5" rvk with a 5'rhino filter for main extraction cos my 8" is too noisy to have on 24/7 for main ext.. i dont have an intake as i dont really need one as the tents in a well vented room with the flaps an a few holes open in the tent to allow air to be sucked in via the pressure. the temps are actually perfect but i need to heat the room at lights out to keep temps up as they were droppin to outside temps at night which caused me some minor probs.
but yea with yours you could get away with a single 600w an 6" ext an 5" intake, you could get a cooltube or air cooled shade if you want to they work well, an mean you can get your light much closer, but they dont reflect as well as some others but i like them an they are cheap where i get them from.
im sure you could fitn more than 10 plants in yours i had 9 in 11 l in my 1mx1m budbox it was tight but it was ok.
id try maybe 9 plants in 11l pots as final ones then you can get a good yeild possibly 3-4 oz from each plant dependin on strain etc but numbers depends on how u wanna grow.

Would it be alright if
i add kind of a bathroom vent 12 cm (4.7 inches) that pumps -130 m3 for INTAKE

and a 12.5 cm (4.9 inches) that pumps 320 m3 for OUTTAKE through the filter

would there be pressure ....? good or bad?
