Full Version: 125w Light Reckon This One Is Ok?

came across this floresent 125w on ebay. you reckon this bulb would be ok at all to use for light for lowryders biggrin.gif

Looks interesting, I've never seen a e27 bulb at 125w, but it does appear to be the actual rather than equivalent. Lumen figure looks low though for 125W CFL (should be 8000ish) so that's looks a but suspect.

Looks like it might at least be decent quality...

Before you order the lamp, you need to sit down and do some thinking.
No matter how small the grow, you will need to spend £100 or so on ventilation and odour control, so it's well worth scaling up - at least to a 250 watt HPS.

Electricity will quickly be the most significant cost and fluorescents aren't very efficient.
The £30 worth of electricity a 125 watt lamp will use in a grow might give you an ounce.
The £60 used by a 250 watt HPS could easily give you 4 ounces.
