I've been watching these fishing programs for years now, you know the type of thing, giant trout in patagonia, marlin fishing in the florida keys, etc, etc.... If money and time was no object what would want to do? I can't decide what I'd want, can't even decide between fresh water and sea.... Salmon in Northern Canada, Char in Iceland or just UK wreck fishing for conger? Maybe not adventurous enough for a trip of a lifetime

I quite fancy catching one of these but I doubt the missus would be happy whistling.gif

I would want to go somewhere really cold, maybe ice fishing or whatever. I love sea fishing and quite like the cold. I would love to land an enormous cod from some icy waters somewhere.

Also I would like to have 3-4 days fishing on a boat, eating and sleeping on the boat and just going for different species, maybe somewhere like Jersey. I almost hired a charter to do this a few years ago, booze and herb were going to be coming aboard with us all but I had a change of heart a few months before and decided against it due to £
Bad Penny.
Way up in the amazon after araipima or Phiranas,or in Bhutan for the trout fishing, maybe Namibia shark fishing from the beach?I have fished for trout in both the Indian Himalayas and Pakistans NWFP regions, also fished for Pla Buk in Thailand which is the best freshwater fishing I ever experienced, used to do quite a bit of wrecking from Whitby and Blyth,my brother in law fished for big cod in Norway several years ago and said it was incredible, yeah just realised,I want to fish for one of those big mekong stingray wink.gif

Always wanted to fish the Great Lakes for Steelhead and King Mackerel (pic'd).

Been out on them sailing b4 but not fishing - won't miss out next time.

Think it would be Mahseer for me.... been captivated by them ever since I watched John Wilson get towed up and down an Indian river for hours in a little boat unable to stop one flex.gif

I think they look stunning too, and the added bonus of fishing in India for them just adds to the joy yes.gif

Where to start ?

Saltwater flyfishing for bonefish, chasing Bass further inland - a shame it has to be in the USA - a country I have no ambition to visit.

I might well settle for a bit of lure fishing for Zander up the Severn with Matt Hayes and / or Mick Brown.

I prefer salt water fishing myself so if I had the choice I would probably fish for either -

Or Tuna -

It would have to be on a catch and release fishing trip as unless there are hungry people waiting to eat a fish that big then I would be against taking it's life.
Would just love to be sat there in the middle of the ocean sun beating down, fish of a lifetime well hooked, arms ripping themselves up from the fight and baked on some tropical sativa.
