Hi Im going to be growing some blue cheese from big buddha seeds in a dr60 as space is a bit of an issue at the moment, was really wondering how much bigger they are likely to grow when switched to flower and basically what is the optimum/maximum size or height I should veg them to, taking into account that the plant itself can be no taller than about two to two and a half foot.

I know there are people on here who have grown blue cheese and wondering what your experience has been of this strain. Also I was going to do a scrog grow and wondering what other methods people have used, for both controlling height and getting a good yeild, especially for such a small space.

Good question. Any information on strech or if i may, what feeding requirements(I think it was these i heard were not keen on too much nitrogen) feel free to post.

i've grown blue cheese but not buddha's, i would say they x3 or min 2.5X STRETCH,THESE BABY'S GET BIG QUICK,SO IF YOUR STARTINGwith seed ,get em flipped quick time.i think ascrog would be v good with this strain. hope youdo well. sorry about the cap's.

I've grown Blue Cheese a coupla times (from cut, dunno seedbank unsure.gif ) when topped it roughly doubled in height. I don't remember it being fussy with nutes nea.gif Using Biobizz Grow, Bloom and Fishmix I think she might have wanted closer to 2ml/pl Grow/Fish than 1ml/pl - I'll have to dig up my last diary and have a look spliff.gif I'll edit and paste a link if I get it together after a cuppa

I grew barneys farm blue cheese which is related to big buddahs in that it's one of big buddhas cheese's crossed with something else.

Anyway I guess they just about doubled in height, definitely not 2.5 times. but then again it all depends on your environment and the pheno that you get.

Cheers all and sorry been away for a few days, some usefull comments and yeah Arbuscule Im going to be using BioBizz's nutrients if you could post a link would be great. As far as height I guess its better to err on the side of caution otherwise Im pretty stuffed.

I kept mine around 2.5ft really easily. Just tie all the branches down and make em grow sideways for a bit, that way I ended up with like 6 main branches of buds. Got 2ounce of the one plant, and that was heavily infected with spidermites.

Do you mind me asking how much room you had for each plant? Sounds good I would be pretty happy with that.

That was my only plant in a 80x80CM area, about the same again in height using CFL's.

I tied to hell so it got to be quite a big plant but could have gotten a second in there easy, so i guess about half the space.

Was shame about the mites, looking back they were raging from about the 2nd week of veg... dunno how the hell I ended up with 2 ounces, if that hadn't happened who knows how much I would have got.

Sweet man, spidermites suck. Im vegging with cfl then hoping to switch to a 250w hps in a coolstar if I can squeeze it in and afford it come flowering. Did you top it as well as tie it down?

As it happens I did a bit of a mixture yeah. Topped a couple as an experiment but tbh i think they need quite a bit more veg time if you are gonna top em... so I haven't bothered since. I just tie em down, the plant has more than enough tops anyway if you tie em so they have more light they get big.
