Hey all,

I just picked up a tobacco jar today from oxfam while nosing for rumtopf jars, it's a wooden barrel shape with 2 different kinds of wood that looks amazing(why i bought it)

The inside is lined with Lead and I assumed that seeing as tobacco is kept well in these would my cured bud keep well? anyone keep their smokeable in anything similar?

I've no idea mate, but lead is nasty and people keep their buds in either glass or wood to keep their smoke clean of heavy metals. I'm not entirely sure it would make a huge difference, but for the sake of style I'd avoid the lead lining personally...

If you're planning on using it for long term storage then it's not a good idea. Go with glass

Short term wise they are fine Some folks use bubbleboxs or similar wooden boxs for keeping their smoking supply in. As already mentioned lead isn't good .. it's a cumulative poison which can be absorbed through the skin and if i could, i would try and remove it from the box

Once again thanks for the replies, I've decided to put it to good use and store my seeds in(with the seeds in sealable bags)

I may even collect more tobacco jars as I've seen a few cookey ones on popular auction sites
