im wonderin what sort of e.c you guys use for your cuttings when they are in established grow and by that i meen rooted through the blocks and some roots on the tray. ive got bb cheese in they are at 2.5 weeks from transplanting into blocks from propagator and am showing signs of sumthing deficient at e.c 1.4. Any ro growers with cheese experience

are you supplementing with calmag? RO water hs been stripped of calcium and magnesium, which hydro nutes generally don't supply much of, as tap water contains so much

Yup, I reckon scraglor is on the money there, I have just had similar experience with ro water, and my clones, snow white, looked stunted, and short, plenty root formation, but just stubby and underdeveloped. I have bypassed the ro water now in favour of tap water for the duration of them getting established, and will get back to ro water later on. I think in the early stages the mag cal and even iron particles are crucial to the initial growth. Handy bit of knowledge that scraglor, that the nute companies allow for the mag cal already in the tap water, didn't occur to me that, but I suppose makes sense. Your ec is n the zone though chronic, although always best to err on the side of caution, fundamentally MJ tends to require less rather than more, and when companies state dosage these are on the max side.

Use formulex to create a background in your RO water.

Raise your EC to 0.4 or 0.5 with the formulex, then add your normal nutes back up to 1.2.

Set you ph at 5.6, and let it rise to 6.0 before lowering it back to 5.6 again.

Thats what I do anyway, the cheese needs the 5.6-6.0 ph range. wink.gif

Plenty of all green ro grows done with just General Hydroponics 3 part or the lucas formula, no additives. Must be enough mg in the bottles for those grows.

yeah, think calcium is what's generally left out, well at least at a lower level that's needed for RO water, i know that hard water nutes for example have almost zero calcium and very little mg, and softwater nutes have a bit more in, but maybe not enough for some RO applications? i would imagine it also varies from manufacturer. doesn't 3 part contain a micronute solution also?

NOTE:
The lucas formula is normally intended for use with RO or near 0 PPM water.

The Lucas formula eliminates the need for Epsom salts to correct (Magnesium) Mg deficiencies in most normal feeding programs recommended by manufacturers. Cannabis needs a lot of Magnesium to thrive.

The Flora Micro is providing the Nitrogen and the Magnesium in the proper balance, thus there is no need for the Grow formula and little or no room under the maximum acceptable ppm limit of 1600 @ 0.7 conversion.

i use the gh 3-part and have done 4 crops of ak and a crop of gh cheese with no additives just runnin at full strength ( which they state as 1.2 -1.8 for veg) and have had no problems, with the use of silicone as a ph up. i have had the healthiest best yeilding plants ive ever grown, its just this cheese seems slow on top, fast root growth and im noticin some of leaves are lookin pale interveinaly with red leaf stems and reddening in the main stem, any1 kno what this could be?? btw ive upped the nutes to 1.7 and am watchin new growth.

sounds like mg def, but depends on where the chlorosis is, couldn't say for sure without pics etc. different strains use more of certain nutes than others.
