I use an aquarium heater. My brew jug sits in a saucepan full of water, the heater sits in the saucepan. I start with hot water in the saucepan and by the time the initial bubbling and dissolving the molasses is done them temp in the brew jug has stabilised at about a degree less than the heater setting.

Start with warm water - saucepan either next to radiator or in a little cupboard with a fan heater.

aquarium heater in the sink set @ 32c done trick for me with litre of essence in jug in sink... the sink acts a bit like a heat sink tho so had to keep adding hot water to sink to keep it @ 30c,
seems to have worked tho
