Greetings,

I am a little confused. Nothing new there then!! I am about to grow 4 of the finest cheisels in a growtent/hydropod. Propping this week and going straight under 2 x 55w fluros, which i will do for about a week before... as it was most admirably put before by someone.... bringing out the big guns wink1.gif rofl.gif

I want to get this right to increase yields.

Last grow i didnt use any fluros, i had one 400 hps light from start to finish and it produced a nice little yield - approx 3 oz (dry) per plant.

My question is whats the dif between HPS and MH, and should i be suing one for vegging and one for flowering to max yield.

Thanks again

It used to be said to use MH (blue-ish light) for veg and HPS (orangey-red light) for flowering, but TBH you can use either all the way through without that much difference - whether it's worth the extra expenditure and hassle is purely up to you (and your ballast must be compatible with both lamp types). wink1.gif

Cheers scribble, i have one of those digi ballasts and the guy in the hydro store assures me i can swap over the lights as and when i need. I think for the sake of a few pennies i will try the mixed approach.. diarise and we can all see if their is a benefit.

Oooh, oooh, I know, me me, well, to be honest I know someone who does. But in short, I find a great all round bulb is the son-T-agro bulb, goog it, and you will find lots. It has around 30% of it dedicated to the blue spectrum, for the veggy side, and then red for the flower, 53000 lumens output, new that is, and, lux is what really counts anyway. So there. What, you want more, ok then, Go here lighting stuff
